Important

ahhhh, I was thinking it was something like that. I think that Kman was well versed in the canuter valve assembly after we got him lined out on that truck he was looking at a while back :D

If it was on an 83 XJ it was probably next to the sludge rectifier desludger derectifier.

unit bearings were opposite the years that had canuter valves.

we had an XJ in the shop someone swapped axles into. it had unit bearings and a canuter valve. it was a beast.

Now I am confused, what years did XJ's have unit bearings and what is so special about them? I think I helped my buddy change his once when we put the body lift on his Cherokee.....

Cheese "got all tech up in here yo!" Man

The IFS and V8 models.

again, depending on the year, the cable from the canuter assembly that ties to the disco housing is a weak point, but with proper bracing from the body lift to the unit bearing it should hold up to most abuse, but not jumping...everyone knows that if you jump a XJ it will fold like a taco.

I sure am glad you didn't die once. because if you did and you were still around you would be a zombie and we would have to shoot you in the head. :D

It's just the really good bath salts.

I am gonna make a new mix of shower salts and see if it is anything like the bath ones.

Cheese "it puts the lotion on" Man

They only taco if the windows are rolled down. Everyone knows that effects the structural integrity.

but isnt it different if you have power windows verses manual windows? Something about the additionl weight of the linkage and the center of gravity. Also helps if you have extra change in the cup holder.

I have only had the unibody fold on me twice its not that hard of a fix, with a high lift and a 2x4 we could even do it on a trail.

I think thgat is why 97-04 XJ's jump better is b/c they have the integrated cup holder in the console vs. the 83-96 models that only had an optional add on cup holder that ws actually mounted up higher in the console, thus giving it a higher COG.

possibly, but if you use your recovery chain to yank it back straight it should be fine. but dont hook the chain around the body lift....it could break.

with 3" lift and 33's my xj is LCOG.

some have a high POS and others a low POS, but it is tends to be a constant.
