Important

I pull up to autozone by my house and as I do two guys are walking out. I hear the alarm going off for something being taken. They see me in my car and turn right around and walk back in. While I'm getting oil and such the autozone guys are laughing cause they found a couple of items in the wrong spot and thank me.

Were they really stealing something or was it a mistake?

Good timing on your part anyway.

I'm not trying to defend them, but I have walked out with a part, to the Jeep, to make sure it was what I was trying to replace. Than went back in, to charge it on the store account.but than again, every parts guy in this po-dunk town knows me by my first name.

I think I'm getting the picture now. They put the stuff back in the wrong spot so they could get the stolen merch of their person.

I would really like to go the range tomorrow, but to be honest, I haven't restocked my ammo supply since shooting at Tyler's. On a side note for any of you that reload, can a non steel, non brass case be reloaded? ( I worded it that way cause I can't spell alluminum)

Kinda defeats the purpose, doesn't it, Mike? Haha!

Aluminum.

As far as your question goes, I have no idea. Manche may.

I have been told recently my Taurus 9 & 45 don't like brass or steel cases. Since I have had to have one replaced all ready for free. I am wondering if what I hear is right. Since ammo is NOT cheap, just wondered if they were reloadable.

so since they put stuff back you couldn't do anything? or where you off duty?

By the way Josh, I am considering doing a M4 build. so feel free to pm me or call & tell me what works & what didn't. Guess I'll let you be the guenie pig. Are you doing all mail order, going to Cabella's or other vendor?

I didn't know they were trying to steal until after they left and the employees found the stuff that they were trying to take.

I was off duty so I could've done an arrest anyways, but I was on a mission for my own stuff. Autozone was just happy to have their stuff back.

no....only brass can be reloaded. Word to the wise too steel and aluminium cases are harder on automatic parts than brass cases, specifically extractors. run the steel and al stuff in glocks xd's etc (workhorse guns) nicer guns like brass only

.....fwiw i only buy brass cased ammo

doug is correct.

although I've never had a problem with steel/aluminum cased stuff in anything. dad's shot plenty out of his 1911 as well. Don't drop the slide on a round in the chamber. Always feed from the magazine.

I am not doubting anything you guys are saying. I just overheard a conversation about Taurus not liking steel or brass, I was wondering if I was buying the wrong ammo. The one I got replaced for free had something wrong with the breach block thing-a ma-jig. They sent me a newer, more modern model, so I wasn't butt hurt at all.

can a a late model XJ with a saggy 3in lift and 31 BFG AT's and will barely see any dirt use stock shocks? or would one be better off with shocks for a 3in lift?

everything is SAAMI spec. so it will all fit and fire in the chamber.

some guns don't like steel cased ammo, it usually has to do with the amount of gas/recoil and the timing. This is what causes extraction issues mostly.

if the gun feeds it and operates correctly, don't worry about shooting it.

I've done it... You'll fully extend the shocks over bumps, may sound really bad... I used the $20 HD shock from O'rielly's and ran that way for ~5months...
