Important

To clarify myself in the least, I was referring to not wanting to conform all of my devices to be Apple friendly across the board. Not wanting to call names, Josh. I called Nate a little while ago and one of the first things I told him was how much I like you and respect that you have your own opinion and you're going to share it un-dauntingly.

You know what I like about my phone?

It's a phone.

If I want something to read me turn by turn directions, I use the garmin mounted on the windshield. ;)

To each his own. I just don't appreciate being called a conformist because I like one companies products over another companies products. I think plugging my device in and using itunes to manipulate it is the easiest way to control the media on the device. If you don't think so, cool.

x2

I don't even use Itunes except when I have to. I was able to transfer all my music over to my iphone from my droid without an issue. I've had my iphone replaced once (before the lifeproof case) and when I got thew new one I was able to transfer over seemlessly from the old phone to the new phone. Much easier than the droid stuff would ever do.

They took a decided turn towards evil.

and money.....say what you want they know how to get every single mom feeding their kids on foodstamps to stash four hundies away so they can get the next unfinished product when they roll it out, and people eat that stuff up. i never bought one because i hate the thought of it being obsolete in a year

....i'll buy one now because im tired of everyone elses subpar crap

I just got an iphone last week, love it love it love it!
I hate the android OS. Sometimes I had to take the battery out and reboot it just to make a call.
It was always hot, the operating system was as stable as a jenga stack on a card table after 25 moves.
I see good things in the future now that Google has taken over Motorola Mobility, they will be cutting down to only a handfull of phones.

I hate the android OS.

my favorite android moment...... trying to answer a call but the screen wont respond to touch, for 6 minutes.

that was screen one under insurance...it broke when i threw it out the truck window

short"taping it to a target after the upgrade"xjdoug

Looking forward to a small road trip Sunday. Sarah and I are going to Falls of the Ohio state park. Instead of taking 70-465-65, we are going through Bloomington. We are going that way because on the way down, we are stopping by the property I worked on in March in Pekin, IN. I really want to see the area five months later after the tornado hit.

rew i agree

Anybody know where to get the best deal on 9mm ammo online? I'm picking up my M&P tomorrow and will be spending some time at the local range for the next few weeks.

Parakeet

Walmart has 9mm for around 13 for 50.

They had it for 12.XX for 50 rounds of Federal, Bass Pro had Remington UMC for 75.XX for 250 rounds. and I think Cabelas had a Herder (Or something like that for) 265. for 1200. Though some of you may know a better deal somewhere online.

Parakeet

Federal. 12.97 for box of 50.

when they filed for sweeping patents that encompass just about every possible evolution of anything touchscreen they lost me.

everyone knows that a tablet is going to looks like a tablet. Star Trek gave use the damned thing, not apple. Yet the patent office is dumb enough to give them, and Apple took advantage. They will be stifling innovation for quite sometime using the court system.

that's evil. I don't mind the money part, but you shouldn't abuse your ability to hire an army of lawyers to tie up anything and everything that even hints at being like your product, or a product you might release, or just a patent that you thought would be a good thing to have in yor back pocket in case someone else might release something like it.

stifling the market is the evil part, not making money. You should never hold back innovation. The entire technological process relies on the mixing and matching of ideas, and the evolution of devices.

so wait, let me get this straight.

You have an iPhone that you don't want to use for GPS so the fact that it sucks at GPS doesn't matter, but then you want it to play your music and use it for that? Do you want it as a phone only (like you said) or to do other things as well (like you also said)?

Me, I'm a fan of integration, as long as it's done pretty well. I like being able to pull my phone out of my pocket in the middle of nowhere, lost, google the address I forgot to write down before leaving (or pull it up on my email account), enter it into my GPS app, have it tell me how to get there, or search for the closest auto parts store, then bring up their phone number and simply click it to call them and find out if they have a part I need.

Pretty cool to get an alert email from my server saying something crashed and be able to SSH in from my phone, in the middle of the woods, and fix it, too.

All that goes out the window on the occasion that it crashes or starts acting up and pisses me off, but when it's working (which is most of the time) I love it.
