Important

fixed.

I appreciate farmers, but it's a business. You pay for the product.

Agreed, but a lot of the farmers I know don't get rich being a farmer. They struggle too and are at the hand of mother nature to water their crops, which hadn't been much lately, so I appreciate what they do

i don't appreciate farmers...i eat all tree nuts, wild berries and venison :)

okay...i guess we can give them a little credit. they give us bacon...

ps...being from a farming state, clearly this is a joke. i just always like giving my farmer buddies a hard time. its pretty shocking though...i had a ton of friends in ffa who swore up and down that they would be farmers till the day they died. and maybe 1 or 2 of them are still farming today. its a much different industry for sure than when i was a youngster. back then you knew who owned property based on whos house was on the land. now a days, trying to track down farmers for permission to waterfowl hunt is a nightmare. i own a plat map and phone book for almost every county i hunt in

Farming is a business just like any other business, proper management and knowledge of the markets and you can prosper, as with all business, it can easily fail. There are just as many shithead government program sack rider farmers that rely on your tax fillers so they can survive and have all brand new shit every year...they are the high flash parasites. Hence why I have tractors as old as me and a truck with 230k miles

Didn't hear noblama's speech yesterday, you aren't responsible for your business' success, the goberment is.

What a shithead.

Ya I heard something like that.... I think he forgot that our taxes pay his salary...dipshit is right.

I am withholding judgement on that comment until I hear the entire speech. I am not a nobama fan, but all I have heard is a quick 8 second part of it. If that line was not taken out of context, yeah, hopefully the back lash will teach him he can't say things like that.

or you can not farm your land and get paid for that, you know, so we can keep crop prices high enough so that farmers don't go out of business.

There are some farmers I respect.
There are some farmers that are sucking on the teet worse than the mom with 9 kids and an EBT card, it's just not as obvious.

just like any other industry there are good and bad, and just like any other industry there are powerful political forces behind them.

cheeseman falls into the "hard working respectful" group, but there are a few around here that I wouldn't piss on if they were on fire. Pretty sure the gameplan for them is to be so far in debt to the bank that they can't foreclose, cause everytime I hear about being in money troubles he goes and buys new equipment.

meh, some people suck, some people are assholes.
I'd rather be an asshole than suck, so here I be.

Anybody read this thread on pirate, I wasn't going to read it, but man, after the backlash the op of that thread got in his first thread, I figured he wouldn't bring it up again.

I read the transcript.

typical dems speak. The rich business owners couldn't have gotten there without the laborers, so they're entitled to the profits just as much as the man that:
had the idea
Took the capital risks
Managed it to be successfull
Marketed it to the public.

you know, cause there's not anything more to a successful business than just hiring some schmucks off the street and having them make things for you, so you couldn't do it without the schmucks, so they should get more and pay less on the taxes for it.

I appreciate that. Those that were at FestFest saw my place and we are very common people w common things just trying to make a living honestly and hold together a family farm. There was ground that just sold to investors yesterday that borders us.... This assholes started bidding at a price that could not even be touched on the local market do we locals are out of the game and done group of California investors bought it.....and I am sure tgey are well informed of all the gov programs that will "help" them, makes me sick.

The last gov check I received was for @$400 and I have it donated to Roscie Racing and Team Texterra. Which reminds me, I need to write done checks :D

corporate farming has run a larger portion of armers out of my area.

I'd liken it almost to sharecropping.
Locals farm it, get a paycheck, but the big corporation owns the land/equipment and profits. Oh, and also owns the big contracts with the big buyers.

Of course they're well connected, so even if hey have a shitty year, the taxpayer will make sure they don't "lose" any money.
