The company changed cafeteria service companies a couple of years back.... and on the morning of a major application go-live, they managed to be out of coffee. In a building with a few hundred IT geeks. Worse, they did it again within a couple of months. I haven't bought coffee here since.

http://planetarydesign.us. I've got two, a Boot Cut, and a Double Shot that I use just about every day. All I need is hot water. And after a couple of years of use, the interior isn't stained a bit. They're also some of the best insulated travel mugs I've ran across.
 
If I'm more than an hour late to work I'm told to take the rest of the day off without pay and get suspended for another day...

rews alarm clock doesn't go off about once a week(used to be more like 3x) claims it was set just didn't go off.

i have never had an alarm clock in my life that just didn't go off. all late days were fault of me forgetting to set it.

If I worked with you guys, I would show up early every day just for the entertainment value.

Unfortunately my job lacks that appeal, so I have the same alarm clock as Rew.

So let me get this straight...your alarm didn't go off, you got more sleep and you're more tired? :D

Reminds me of a guy I worked with. We at one time had 4 guys named Josh in the shop. Rather than call him "Josh who never showed up on time" we just called him "Dumb Josh." He would come into work 2.5 hours late and say he had trouble sleeping the night before. He got told a lot, "Seems like you slept just fine this morning."

I'm with you on the coffee though. Some people like their coffee to be colored water. I prefer it to actually taste like coffee. People took it easy on my high test.

i informed my manager that i was running late,only came in about 15min,sam is just a pussy that cant handle mechanics that's why he is complaining.

I hate being late for work, so much so I end up going in usually at least an hour before hand. I may not do any work related work before I am on the clock, but if I have to, I will. I also sometimes leave 15-30 minutes early if I get my work done early. There has been times where I have gotten overtime because I was there early (breaking news, severe weather). I also easily got my job because I was there early all the time (also because I was always wanting to learn more then my job). I think I was five minutes late to work once and I felt so rushed to get my early work done.
 
i find my promptness depends on the client and how much they are paying me...if they treat me like crap and pay me way less than they should, i don't mind stumbling in a few minutes late. if they pay well...even if the treatment is not great, im always at least 10 min early. then again i have that luxury since i work for different people almost every day. really i only have 1 client that i show up late for occasionally, but they pay me about half of what i should be making. i do a lot of work for them when im home, and they don't seem to mind if i roll in late. when im in new york and clients pay top dollar...im never late.
