Important

Just finished pulling the wheel studs through the new hub with the lug nuts and some elbow grease and got the jeep off the jack stand.

Off to the car wash to try and get the red clay mud crap off of it before I start on the other stuff.

Rev was wearing short pants wasn't he? That pic shows full length, frayed pants.

I think Rev was wearing longish shorts, which could be what we're seeing in the pic. The pant leg on the left is not aligned with the shoe like it would be if it were at the ankle.

:roflmao: Josh asked me about gray shoes, I saw those in the pic and KNEW it was Rev, well played sir! :D

my cousin joined the marines a while ago, and was eventually discharged for medical reasons. her little brother is all hoo-ray, go marines. and hes the quietest, most timid kid, and has ambitions to join i think (hes 19 i think? idk...). i seriously dont think its his calling. im not knocking his ambitions, but i lived the first 20 years of my life in the biggest military hub in the world. both of my parents are navy. he would get eaten alive.

but any-hoo, i got a forwarded mass text from him about some marines contacting starbucks, claiming how much they love the coffee, and if they would send any overseas. i guess starbucks responded saying thank you for the patronage, but they do not support the war. so here is my cousin, "boycott starbucks, rabble rabble rabble. they are un-american! rabble rabble rabble." now, living in norfolk, i find marines to be the worste kind of person. im not saying anything about what they go through or do for our country... but i find the majority of them to be shotty people. while not all, the "jarhead" stereotype defines a lot of them.

my response, "starbucks is a privately owned company. outside of the laws, rules, and regulations that govern any food service business, they are not owned or controlled by the government. are you saying they are not entitled to their own opinion? sounds pretty "un-american" to me..."

(DISCLAIMER: i understand that a lot of us here probably have friends or family in the service, even marines. so please dont assume im speaking specifically about them. nor am i questioning your views of what is "american" or not. i just like F'in with this kid.)

i dont think we are friends on facebook anymore. haha.

Saw this.....

The more you talk, the less I like you.

I have found in my experience that the children of military personnel go one of two ways. You obviously went the wrong way.

I'm a jarhead and I know how to spell worst. :wave1:

And waited for this.....

Durango box is in. I'm getting better at it. Only 2 hours this time.

Durango steering box is on my list, what year did yours come out of?

It's been a long time, but I'm pretty sure it's a 98. I bought it from a JY on car-part.com. I think that was before WF 07 in MO, so it's been 6 years.

I cheated today because the lines from the 91 were still on the box and I didn't have to swap the pitman arm.

LOL!! I knew it was you!

So what was the other pic if it wasn't inappropriate?
It was too blurry to even know what it was. It looked like an open fly...so I deleted it.

new york city is really boring when you have a day off an not a lot of money...wishing i was at home right now. this trip isn't panning out to be as profitable which blows. i was kind of worried about that since july is the slow time around here

Taking a break after brewing 15 gallons of beer (Kolsch, breakfast stout, American wheat,) getting out the patio furniture and hanging a new patio light. Modern Marvels on the History Channel has a show in ropes & wire. They're featuring Samson, which manufactures the Amsteel Blue synthetic lines. They've just demonstrated a failure test of a 4-6" diameter Amsteel Blue line. The line just dropped, it did not whip, pretty impressive test to yield.

I just saw that. I don't think it broke in half, so it was still attached at both ends under tension.

Still makes me feel a ton better about my little rope after seeing that one let go.

Agreed. It didn't look like a complete snap or yield, but it was at the failure point.

Just did my first 5 gal batch. Bringing 4 galons of water to a boil on a stove top is no joke. Took forever!

House smells nice now though :D

I am rather fortunate in that my s/o very much enjoys both the smell of brewing ("THAT smells GOOD" as she walks by the brew kettle,) as well as the end product. I may get some grief about brewing some times, but it's never about the odors.
