Dan, just get a semi sized steering wheel, that will cut down on the revolutions :D or a little chain steering wheel and double the revolutions...but only if you have the fuzzy dingle berry things across the top of the windshield.

It almost looks like the 1990 blue xj I just junked out. :D Couple more trees and it will look like a raisin. LOL

just found out one of my old buddies/band mate just moved back to des moines! sweet! time to up the band by one member...

thats two old buddies ive been reunited with this week. too bad i can only drink on sundays with my new nutrition plan :(

Very productive day. Finished the hydro steer, installed my pinion guard and did a very detailed cleaning of the garage. My sons open house is this Saturday at ky house so my two main objectives were to make the jeep move and clean. Done one day early.

I had a few issues with the jeep today tho, first I forgot to put the jeep on park after installing the ds, and when I started the jeep to check the steering it drove its self off the jack stands. There was no harm to the jeep and the only harm to me was my pride.

Then once I ht the jeep back up, the steering was backwards, so I switched a couple lines around and it works good. I'm not real satisfied that it takes 6 turns of the wheel to go from lock to lock. Just something I'm going to uave to get used to.

Yes, I'm a dumb ass...

Dan without a solid tie rod there is a possibility the rams will get out of sync and your tires could end up going different directions when you are trying to go straight.

There is a tie rod.

I bought this as a complete used set up. I'm currently using my stock ps pump, which may not be putting out enough volume.

I need to do some more research. I wish I had the money to buy the complete kit.

I have real heims this time. All 3/4"

A high performance P.S. pump will make a night and day difference on that system.

In other news, I got rid of my second expensive hobby to Jeeping. Sold my last Saltwater Reef tank setup...

Don't worry, the money was already spent on my long arm setup...

Hmmm got a quote for $330 to replace both my D30 inner axle seals

I have done almost all the work on my rig myself so i feel like i should be following some of the threads i found showing how.

I am worried i wont get it back together right and screw up my Arb or gears , it would be an expensive mistake if it went wrong.

What do you guys think ?

if it was a stock axle id definitely do it myself

ouch...first workout today in probably over 10 years...im a fat out of shape bastard, but I made it through the class without stopping so thats a start. i'll admit it felt pretty good to be doing something physical again.

About 3 Months ago i started back Training , It had been about 15 years and i definitely fall into the Fat bastard category. Ive noticed that no matter how sore or shitty i feel on my way in once i get that blood really pumping i feel TONS better.

I worked out the night I drove home from FestFest and that was the toughest time I've had .
I think i was sweating out pure Bacon/Cheese/Beer

here are only a couple significant differences – the high pressure line fitting is different, the mounting holes are not threaded, and the WJ pump has a nipple for a second low pressure line.

Easy enough that I might do this to supplement the Dodge Durango Steering Gear I installed last year...

Looked @ a 93 Dodge Dakota 4x4 v-6 with a 5 speed. All the brake lines and fuel lines are shot. Not scared of fuel lines or brake lines are these decent trucks? He was going to scrap it so may get it for <$100.
Friend has a plow mount for it he'd sell me that would work with my plow, and it's a pickup that I could use for hauling firewood.

Also thinking that I need another project like another hole in my head.

Shit, if you can pick it up for $100.00 I would in a heartbeat. If it is that bad, go and scrap it out for $400.00. Prices around me are $205.00 a ton right now.
pretty much this, you can't lose on that deal.

it is a 2 person job if you want it to be easy. Took me and a friend about 30min and neither of us had done seals before.

Buy an extra seal or two just in case if you are afraid you will damage them. Make sure to keep each bearing cup with the side it came from and clean everything well before reassembly. I haven't done one with an arb in it but it shouldn't be much different aside from the airline setup.

Still alive. Had a good time at Festfest. From Green Bay to Crestwood, IL to Kenosha, WI, the 97 got 21.55mpg. Pretty stoked with that. And I still want to do a tune-up and a K&N drop in.
