You know that part where the shocks slam into the bottom of the shock body?

Wait, that's what bumpstops are for I think.

My springs do that...

mac 'well my old coils did 'gyvr

I thought bump stop was when you hit a tree or rock and it stop's you in your tracks

here I was thinking 23 dollar autozone shocks (with lifetime warranty!) made great bumpstops

Molly, you should see John's (aka lesslimited's) rear storage. Even more impressive, instead of a flip lid, his is/was a drawer style.

are fsj dana 60's worth anything to xj guys??? found a set at a yard today...they are the 8 lug j truck width axles
iirc the rear is lame? I'm not sure about the front. I know the rear 60 they put in J10s is basically a big dumb 44 that has few upgrades, brake backing plate brackets have a weird bolt pattern, etc, don't know much about J20s.

If I get a bump stop (I am missing one somehow from the previous owner), would it be able to be put in at the campground?

Timmy might be able to help you i hear he just did this to his...

simple enough that I consider it a "do before even leaving for the campground" project

been working on a storage loft in my shop and having a hell of a time to get it square..found out the shop is out of square and it is really causing me havoc. I finally decided on a new approach that is decent and it is working, but I am a bit disappointed in the original craftmanship of the shop to be that much out of square. I have to keep telling myself the Amish around here build barns/shops, not houses...and for a reason.

Went and looked at a 95 XJ today. Its an upcountry with 230k. Id buy it if it didn't have flintstone floors up front. I have nowhere to part it out either. Subaru has blown head gaskets and I REALLY don't want to pull the motor.

Flexd'probably gonna buy a Camry like Doug and Molly'XJ

Believe me, I wish I was driving 961 miles to WF.

But my MJ is simply not going to be wheelable if I do. It will make the trip no problem at all, but I won't be able to wheel it if I want to be able to drive it home, the frame is swiss cheese and I can't risk it. My work schedule is so ridiculous these days that I haven't been able to really fix anything on any of the jeeps in months, just kinda fix barely enough to limp them along.

Maybe next year I will have had the time to fix them properly. If all goes well I'll have a full frame under the MJ, the old bed turned into an MJ trailer for all my beer, bacon, camping gear, and an entire jeep worth of spare parts, and clean clothes, in that order. Then it's game on.
