Important

Mac, CMK came up for a beer on Wednesday night.

Cool, haven't seen him in a bit. He put his family ahead of racing...something about priorities :)

Hopefully I can get up there someday and manage to have a beer with both of ya...

Funny you should mention mice.
A bunch chewed their way in to the spray foam around our hot tub and chewed a hole in one of more of the hoses.
Now I have a big old piece of $#!t in the middle of my deck.
no way to fix it with out getting it up and out of the deck and turning it upside down.

I spent four hours in the mud under the deck this morning, it was a fun day.

Woke up a few nights ago to some banging around downstairs, and found a piece of pizza crust pulled halfway under one of the coils on the new range. Never saw the mouse, though. Put up some snap traps on the stove with some Christmas ham as bait. Took a nap last night and woke up to a nice bang.

Hopefully he tells the other mice what he saw. Oh wait, he can't. He's dead.

Really I don't care if they're in my house, just pissed when they make noise and keep me up at night.

Hope everyone had a good new years. Spent last night with the gf and watched Sherlock Holmes. Pretty good movie. Prolly have to watch it a few more times to get the humor out of it.

Went to Terra Haute today and had one of the worst IHOP experiences ever. Then went to GanderMountain Rural King and then a shake from Sonic.
Came home and moved 3 ricks of wood onto the porch from the yard.

My day is done. Gunna spend the rest of the night drinkin til the beer runs out.

good times with the mice. If you want a really effective mouse trap get a 5 gallon bucket and a piece of dowel rod. Notch top of bucket so dowel rod will fit in the notch. Cover middle of dowel with peanut butter, fill bucket halfway with water.

come back to mass mouse murder a few days later. I keep one in the garage since that is the entry point to our house every year for them. during the height of te mouse invasion in the fall it was drowning 3 or 4 a day, but none ever made it into the house.
You may have to build a ramp to the side of the bucket so they can get to the dowel.

I like this idea. I have a shed out at the back of the yard next to the woods, it's like a freakin giant mouse house. I may have to get some antifreeze for the temps coming up.

broke the jeeps cherry today. first time ive used the 4wd off road. did pretty good! gotta fix the motor mounts.

when i take off the trans seems to bind up and shake. but after im rolling its fine even at hwy speeds. it sounds like the front dshaft is hitting the floor. it doesnt do it in reverse and not in 4wd. only in 2wd right when i take off. any ideas? i know the motor mounts are worn. i was gonna chack trans mount and check out the front dshaft.

but otherwise it did fine

Got the ZJ running today. Seems to be runin pretty good and carrys good oil pressure. Im not sure what its like to have a jeep with less than 200000 on the clock.
Now on to find a 242

Auto-darkening, or traditional plate?

Auto-darks are a bunch more expensive, but you won't be flipping your head like a horse, bothered by a fly. I'd be careful with economy auto-darkening helmets, they can "flare" on you, where they either don't darken fast enough, or lighten up in the middle of a strike.

You can probably get a much larger field of view with a traditional helmet for a lot less money, but you'll be flipping it up and down a lot.

a nice how too, I like how they used tin cans, I may have to revise my design.

I got those hood vents the other day BTW. Thanks.

Jumped in lake MI on saturday, brothers got the video on his phone so i will post it when he gets it posted

Nate, are they all you expected? I'm building my trap tomorrow!

more or less yeah. It's hoodvents. nice use of the shop rags for packing, I'm surprised the post office didn't freak out with the hydrocarbon smells. You're gonna get the man sent to our houses. My wife actually asked if you wanted the towel back.

If you're sticking that trap out in a shed use some salt in the water, or windshield washer fluid. You're not opening a mouse ice skating rink. I've found it works best if you build an "A" shaped ramp that goes perpendicular to the log roll device, then you can set the ramp right against the wall.

I saw on this old house the other day some company making a commercial one, but the bucket one works pretty good for me.

lol. the rags are from my gf, she works at a nursing home and she brings home all the old (washed) bibs that they use for the residents. they make great rags. you can keep the rags, no cost. :D

I'm going to put the trap in my shed, where i have my old work bench that they love to make their home by. the bucket should set next to a shelf where there's plenty of 'evidence' they have mouse gatherings. They should be able to walk off the shelf onto the cans, plus a ramp off the other side of the bucket. I'm going to use washer fluid to solve the freezing problem. I'll post pics of my catches.

You know, anti-freeze works wonders by itself. It's sweet smelling, so they are attracted to it. And it won't freeze. I buddy of mine used to leave some in the garage for just such an occasion. No fancy cans or ramps required. Always had quite a haul.

One of the most disgusting things I have ever seen is an RV crapper full to the top ... with dead mice.

Just figured I would give you guys an update on the 97 XJ situation that most of you know about.

My lawyer has called the GM a few times with no return and eventually had to write a letter, I figured I would share that with you.

Dear *name removed*:

I have left two phone messages of you (on December 16th and 17th), but have not yet been favored with a return phone call. Therefore, I write to you requesting that you either agree to refund my client's money for a green Jeep Cherokee he purchased from your dealership on December 15, 2010, or that you at least refer this matter to your legal counsel so that he/she and I may discuss this matter further.

By way of background, Brendan Yohn purchased a green Jeep Cherokee from your dealership for $1,700 on December 15, 2010. Prior to that sale, your salesman (*name removed*) affirmatively represented to Mr. Yohn, verbally and in sales documents, that the Jeep Cherokee was a four-wheel drive. However, when Mr. Yohn got the vehicle home, he discovered that while the front axles looks like a four-wheel drive, it has no transfer case and no front drive shaft. Therefore, it is a two-wheel drive Cherokee. Furthermore, in checking the VIN with Jeep, Mr. Yohn confirmed that it is a two-wheel drive vehicle.

When I briefly spoke with *name removed*, who I believe is you used car manager, his simple answer to my request of a refund was that the "vehicle was sold AS IS." Therefore, it was *name removed*'s position that Mr. Yohn was not going to get a refund. I tried to explain to *name removed* that the issue involved in this sale (a material misrepresentation of the very nature of the vehicle, not the fitness of the vehicle) was not covered in an AS IS sale. *name removed* did not seem to appreciate that distinction.

Pursuant to I.C. 24-5-0.5-3, informing a consumer that an item is of particular "standard, quality, grade, style, or model" when it is not, is a deceptive act. You can cure this deceptive act, Mr. Yohn is potentially entitled to not only the return of his purchase price, but also as much as the greater of three times his actual damages or $1,000.00, as well as an award of "reasonable attorney fees."

Accordingly, I urge you to either call me to discuss this matter or contact your legal counsel and have him or her call me at his/her earliest convenience. Inaction on your part will lead to legal action on Mr. Yohn's part.

Now what else I found out by talking with the lawyer was that the firm he works for also has the car dealership's insurance company as a client as well, so he has to refer me to another lawyer that will most likely take over the case if they don't respond to the letter.
