There's a buy/pay dealer here that also owns a salvage yard and if say the tranny goes out, they'll put another in and add the cost to the balance. Win, win for them if the people pay. They also do their own repos.

I repoed cars for about a year, greatest job ever. Stealing for a living.

We did a 3.4L lower intake job for a buy here dealer in town. They added the repair bill to the customer's balance; we found out later they still owed $9k on a 1999 Pontiac Montana with over 150k miles. It was clapped out.

i kinda looked in to tow truck driving when i was looking for a job i put in a couple apps but got no call backs, i don't have my CDL so that's probably a reason. i still would like to do it

hauled salvage and ran tow trucks for 4 years, it's a fun job, just didn't pay what I needed and no bene's. Got alot of gas and misc parts for free. You'd be suprised how many people will hand over thier title in exchange for the tow bill. I picked up a 99 Intrigue from my boss for $400 that was a roll over, I put a new roof, fender, mirror and windshield on it, drove it for 2 years and then traded it for my 99 XJ. Hauling semi's is where the money is, I ran to Columbus and picked up a truck and hauled it back and I cleared $500, the total bill was $1500.

I'm headed off to the IU Basketball game (on ESPNU @ 6 PM). Then coming home and taking off two more bolts and removing the bed from the MJ tonight.

yea, i love my family and all, but sometimes i just wonder wtf. my mom bought an 89 toyota camry 4cyl with 200000mi for 3grand. and we didnt even need it. it ran fine but was wayyyyy too money. after a year we finally sold it to a guy for $1500. i felt bad for selling it to him for that much. oh well. her car buying privilages have been removed.

disco"when i get home, im gonna punch your mama right in the mouth"steve

so, between reading up on welders and seeing what Hobag and seanR among others are using I broke down and bought a new Hobart 187 and added the bottle to it as well. After a few calls to Sean to make sure I had my breaker and wire selection right I am in business. Just ran some test welds a little bit ago and damn...I don't know how I ever got by without it!!

I would love to learn some welding. Of course im obviously limited to what I can weld but still I can have my own welder when needed. Gonna wait til I buy a home though.

Pretty sure crazyjim in socal does that too... sounds like a fun-ish job.

If I ran a dealership like that, I'd keep a copy of the key when selling the car, and destroy it when they finish paying. If they stop paying and it's time to repo, go find it, get in, drive it back to the dealer's lot.

Don't let not owning a house hold you back.

Modern MIG and flux-core wire feed welders are reasonably inexpensive, and will offer you some options for building or repairing

Its only about a 30 minute drive to my dads house and his nice 220 miller. Plus I got a buddy a few minutes away with one. My current house doesn't have 220 service in the garage. That will be on my buddy who is the homeowner.

Moved a GSXR 1000 for a deployed friend yesterday, about a 20 minute ride. I rode long enough to learn that I don't want a crotch rocket. My harley is way more comfortable.

Yeah, but with a Jap bike you will still have functioning kidneys after a ride and not have oil blown on your pants legs.......haha

My guess is that his Harley isn't a '78.

Yeah, some of my buddies at work have newer Harleys and the seem to be pretty reliable. I just love to give em' crap. I grew up a few miles from HD in Milwaukee, you'd think I'd be more of a fan of them....

I love my Droid 2.............that is all!

I hurt more yesterday after 20 minutes on that sportbike than I did on the 200 miles I rode through the canyons of southern california on a softail in September for 8 hours.

Now that dog just ain't gonna hunt.
