Beard got trimmed thin this morning. It doesn't bother me to be lazy about shaving for a week or so, but after a month it was driving me nuts.

Snow sucks. Cold weather sucks. Dusk at 5pm sucks. I don't feel like doing a damn thing in the evenings anymore and my liver is paying the price.

I trimmed mine up too. I think I will rock the beard for a while.
 
Going to look at an 01 XJ tomorrow, I put a WTB ad on craigslist for a 97+ XJ for around $1000 and a guy from the local Toyota dealership texted me, so i'll be stopping by tomorrow morning to see what he has on the lot.

if it is like any other car dealer, they will lure you into the lot with that line, and then say "well, take that $1000 you were going to spend, put it as a down payment and I can finance you for 72 months and your payments on this 2001 Cherokee will only be $17 a month" or some stupid shit like that.

My brother went to the Jeep dealer and told them he was looking for a new 4 door Wrangler, black w/ a hard top. Now keep in mind he was driving his lifted 98 XJ (Project Impound) instead of their newer Avalanche. The guy showed him a red soft top that was used because he said he thought it might be more in my bros "price range" according to the sales kid...my brother was pissed. He is upper management for Pepsi and pulls 6 figures with ease and this little 19 yr old dousche was insulting him. My brother told the kid that he should have spent more time paying attention in school and he would not be wearing huge fake diamond ear rings and trying to sell used cars. After a few choice words bro went to the manager and said he was insulted, and that their business image was tarnished by this baggy pants fake diamond ear ring gold chain wearing dousche. The manager said the problem would be addressed.....on the spot termination! Score one for the Preston Boys!!! My brother said it was the second happiest day in his life! :D

I agree, even if you said "looking for Cherokee, $1000 in hand" some sales guy is going to read that as "this guy needs a car and only has $1000 to spend."

I can't imagine any Cherokee being on a dealer's lot for $1000, let alone an 01. Sounds too good to be true, to me. If they have some $5000 vehicle sitting there and they want you to finance, ask the sales guy to take a reading comprehension class. Also, show up with your truck and trailer, that lets them know you're serious. :D

Seriously though Brendan, if you snag an 01 for that cheap, that will be deal-of-the-century material!

Been thinking of getting another Jeep sometime next year. Can't wait to laugh when they ask if i'm wanting to trade my Jeep in. I have been wanting an Overland for a while so we will see if I can some up with the money.

He should just load his MJ on the trailer and drag it behind his truck to the dealership then when they try to give him shit he can just say he's tearing it apart to fix his POS! :D

They make more on used vehicles that's probably were he was going with the sale but if they canned him on the spot then he probably was on the edge any way

we got one young gun on our sales floor he is noting like that kid you mention he comes to work in button up shirts and nice pants and is very professional sells the cht out of cars up there i think he is #2 or 3 up there against guys who have been doing it for 25-30 years, i give him crap all the time because we used to work together on the wash rack
 
back home it is funny to see the car sales kids..either one week they are working at a car stereo shop, the next they are running their own used car lot and before long you see them selling for a big lot dealership...it is cyclical. :D occassionally you see them start their own window tint shop.....
