Important

bad day in jeep land. jeep starts. runs fine, but then when you shut it off it wont start again. after about 30min it might start again. it has spark, fuel pressure. its not getting power to the injectors all the time. i changed the pickup coil and that didnt help much. it has a new distributor, ign coil, cap n rotor, and crank sensor. any ideas. im now thinking it may be a bad connection.

comealong/ratchet straps to pull where needed, stock tire jack to push where needed. Worked for me, and I was an idiot and connected the control arms last... let me tell you, it's way easier if you don't have the track bar and steering bolted in first.

Got it all done... axle is back in it's home plus there's an Aussie Inside. Time to move on to the next project... the Ford... ugh...

This was a very important day in history, 30 years ago...

Love that movie!

One of my good buddies, who stood up in my wedding, was an extra in the movie about the same time he was starring in his high school play. He was in the ballroom scene at the end. I wish I had been more impressed at the time and paid more attention to the stories he told about the filming. I know he did get to meet Belushi and Aykroyd, and took Belushi's later death very hard.

And I think I read in Hot Rod that Dixie Square was finally leveled last summer after sitting empty all those years.

when i lived in dixmor IL i drove past dixie square every day, I thought there were still parts standing

I was hanging out with a buddy last night who was browsing Craigslist. Man, it just baffles me how so many people can post up adds for Jeeps and severely miss when it comes to descriptions of parts on the vehicle. Take for instance a D35 front axle...

or when you search Cherokee and find more ZJ's and WJ's!

Well there's not really any way around that, I mean Cherokee is still part of the name.

But what really kills me is when people don't know the difference between them and you see things like a 2004 Jeep Cherokee or a 1989 Grand Cherokee Pioneer... sheesh.

"16in steal jeep wheels form 08 wrangler, fit all wranglers cherokees libertys $750"
"rims in great shape- 2 slightly bent, 1 has a 4" long crack, and the lip is completely ground off the 4th wheel. easy 2 fix. ver nice wheels."
"wheels off 88 wrangler- 5x5.5 pattern"

Craigslist is more of a way to kill time, than it is a good source for parts around here.

been a hell of a day..one the road for 7 hours round trip for a 4 hour meeting, had my boys first T-ball game to help coach, and got a call about the property across the road selling.......but the good news is it is only 7 acres and has a new open front shed on it a and I can score it all for $14K. The important thing about it is that it would keep someoone from moving in across the road from me and I would own on all sides of our house then........currently we own on all sides but run up to the road and it has always bothered me that the thought of someone coming in and building or draging in a trailer etc and blocking my endless view out of our front windows/porch. Kind of selfish I know, but I moved out of the city for a reason.....

Seriously... every 3 months some property adjacent to you comes up for sale.

What the hell are you doing to make all your neighbors leave? :D

got the jeep running. tps was bad. now it runs like a raped ape. well actually, it runs more like a dog on a linoleum floor. but either way it runs. :illegalhappydance:

$14k for 7 acres and a shed sounds cheap.

Scoring land like that is why my extended family owns most of Auglaize County, OH :D

Truly I'm just jealous of all this land everyone has... and I'm stuck here with 1/4 acre and nowhere to work on anything!

$2k an acre though... if I could pick up a few acres around here at that price, I'd be real happy...

Got the t'case for the Heavy Chevy put back together tonight. Ended up being able to use the original case after cutting the bad bearing race off the planetary carrier. Still sucks, but at least it will be fixt tomorrow.

Guess I could have edited my original post, but oh well :D

Knowing Tyler, they just can't take seeing him wandering around the farm naked and covered in nacho cheese. :D

Not so live, from the National Homebrewer's Convention, in Bloomington, MN.

Pro brewer's night tonight. Lots of over the top brews, and a few just really good standards. All in all, a very enjoyable evening. Club night tomorrow night, I've got a Kolsch and an American brown ale for the club booth.

Back to your regularly scheduled XJ discussions.
