tried to fix my blue 94 today. has spark and 39 psi fuel pressure and good compression. tomorrow im gonna test the injectors. any thoughts? it was running fine but eventually it got to where i had to start it with carb spray every time. now it does nothing even when i spray it. i think the injectors might not be getting power.

Awesome, I came home from work to no power! C'mon REMC get this going!

Clark and Jackson counties. We camped northeast of Black River Falls by Lake Arbutus, so we were near the center of the trail system.

Literally 35 minutes from me. Hope it was fun.

Mac just wanted to let you know that most RV fridges are an ammonia based system. If you pull them and turn them upside down for 24-48 hours then right side up for 48 hours they usually work. The ammonia near the top generally gets crystallized and becomes separated. When you flip it the crystals dissolve.

I appreciate that tip...(pun intended)

The fridge is 20 years old and I got a great deal on a mini-fridge. There is always electricity or a generator where i go, so no need in having a 3 way...fridge that is.

mac 'new one looks better too' gyvr

Same thing I did mac. My "econo" camper only had an ice box in it, so it is replaced with a 110 dorm room fridge. I decided to get a mobile room-to-room A/C for mine. I did not have a place within 2 hours of me that did RV repairs etc and getting an A/C wired up at "Willies Farm and Fleet Repair" was not somthing I was going to gamble on. :farmer: The room-to-room unit was about half the price and I can just leave it at home during winter trips..except Winterfest b/c we all know that I might need an A/C on some years :D

All I heard was blah blah blah, dorm room, blah blah blah, room-to-room, blah blah, gamble, blah blah blah, room-to-room.

are you upset that it did not have the room number on it there big boy? :kissyou: You show up with that RABBIT HAT and we can make magic happen (get it?, RABBIT..MAGIC...??) :lastara:

HAHA! Actually, it sounded kinda like something you would see in an adult "educational" film. One that I feel I may have lived through already. Well, some of those aspects anyway.

So, I just love being the family mechanic. Everybody wants shiat done to thier stuff right now. My dad in particular really grinds my gears. He bought a 1992 F-150, 2WD, Manual with the 300 I-6. It had about 200k on it and I fixed a lot of stuff with it and he soaked a bit of $$ into it. After he had it about a year or so, it was finally in good shape. He traded it a few months ago to a guy for a 2000 F-150, 2WD, Auto with the 4.2 V6. Never been a fan of those engines, whatever. That thing had a slew of things wrong with it, no wonder the guy was eager to trade it straight up for a vehicle that was 8 years older. Well, after ball joints, brakes, some wiring, a new rear window, starter and a couple odds and ends, Dad is wanting to trade it to a guy for a 1995 Chevy 1/2 ton with the 4.3 V6 and manual. When I first heard about this idea, I told him not to do it. I asked him about the details. The guy has all the service records, he's the 3rd owner and (according to my old man) takes care of his stuff. I don't know what exactly the story is, but I'm more than likely going to be checking it over tonight for him. I'm tired of him buying junk and me being the one fixing it. Hopefully I will see enough that I can convince him that it's not a good trade and I won't inherit a new set of BS to deal with it...Whining: done. Sorry. Had to tell someone.

Of course it's a good trade. Anytime you go from a line of Fords to a Chevy you're doing something right :D

Check the intake manifold for coolant leaks, they're bad about the intake gaskets leaking. Other than that, the 4.3 is pretty much bulletproof. IIRC the tranny should be a NV3500 or Getrag somethingortheother.

Yeah, I gave him all kinds of hell when he bought the 92 F-150. I can't count the times I've threatened him to not work on his junk if he keeps getting Frauds. I'm quite familiar with the 4.3s. I would venture to guess it's got oil cooler lines leaking, more than likely the intake/water pump, possible wheel bearings...I see these problems come through my door every day working at a Chevy dealer.

Josh, would you like some tissues or butt paste?? :D Naaa, J/K...I am the local Jeep mechanic it seems to be..which is fine if my own junk is fixed, but everyone seems to have "urgent" problems and wants them fixed and then it is a few days in my shop, they drink my beer and even eat my nachos..this madness will not stand!!!!!!

Same here, I don't know how I ended up being the most mechanically inclined of my friends. I get to work on the family fleet, which isn't so bad as they are all first owner cars and well taken care of, and nice cars to boot. But when I spend a couple hours tearing apart a carb on a boat and putting it back together (and burning and blistering my back in the sun) and getting paid in beer, its okay. When a guy at work starts asking my why his Blazer won't start and he's trying to get a diagnosis out of me on the spot, that's not so cool. When I get introduced to someone as "Brian, he's my mechanic" and I hear "Oh, really, my car is making this funny noise" I just want to slap someone. The bad part isn't being introduced as a mechanic, its when someone immediately thinks I can just say their car has such 'n such a problem and that I will give up a Saturday to help someone I just met. I'm a nice guy and all but that starts crossing lines for me. And all the urgent stuff is bad, being a mechanic is not my job, I have other things to do in the course of a day.

That being said, I like working on things, but there's a point too far.

I know exactly what you're saying. The only difference between us, it is my job. Which means that I want to do even less of it after work...
