Important

I'm a busy man! Besides I can't post if none of you fools are posting! :D

That's never stopped you before!

Just got back from ATVing in Wisconsin with some good friends. We put about 280 miles on the quads, and drank a bunch of beer around the campfire.

Trying to get things set so that I can get new RC leaf packs b4 the august trip.. dunno if it'll get done or not yet, not sure... Also will probably need to get new tires at some point, these ATs are starting to look thin...

Ha I know! I was about to text you and see if you were still alive. Looks like we may be going into the shelter area at work soon.

All your sensors are going to be on the intake and throttle body. Fuel rail is in the intake too. You'll just have the coolant temp sender which is in the head.

Still, for what a 91+ head will cost you I'd say just do that and do it right. No reason to lose a few ponies from the 89 head, if it's in good shape try to sell it to a Renix guy around here.

did some investigating. block is cracked. so looks like i get to use the 89 block and mayybe the 95 head if its good. will that work?

That sucks, swapping the bottom end will be a lot of work, but you have less to worry about. Only difference in the blocks is that the Renix motors have knock sensors, but since you're using newer electronics it won't be needed.

Just throw that 95 head and all that is attached to it on there, and you should be good.

Or... call Golen and get you a 4.6L. :D

yea. that should work, i just hope that head is good. that block had been cracked for sometime. and it appears to have been a victim of jb weld. so hopefully that was the only problem. if worst comes to worst, ill juat pull the engine out of my 94. but i do need to sell that thing when im done. how much can i get out of a 94, 4dr, 2wd, 5sp with over 230000 mi? lol

Anyone have any tips and tricks for installing the front axle? I used coil spring compressors the first time and couldn't even crank them down enough to help. The axle wouldn't drop far enough to get them over the bump stops, plus they almost slipped off the coil which makes me more than a little nervous. I thought I would be clever and put the coils on first, then jack it up and bolt in the uppers, but now I'm having a hell of a time wrangling the axle around to get the lowers in. I feel like I'm making this way harder than I should be. I have done this before, even, and although it was annoying, it was never 'drenched in sweat and cursing' annoying.

Dumb broken Jeep is holding up my plans (need it running so I can work on my truck), and I just spent 2 hours on it with very little to show for it.

It's beer-thirty.

I am not sure on how to do it myself but if you ever need an extra set of hands to work on anything give me a shout!

just disconnect the track bar and the drag link from the pitman arm and then jack it up, the coils will fall out......but dont spill your beer.

If I am still struggling tomorrow I will do that!

Well yea, removing it is easy! Had the axle completely out to put the new LCA brackets on. No beer spilled there. :D Now I'm just trying to get the thing back in. Easy solution: long arm kit?

Found a lottery ticket on the ground at the gas station this morning and it was for a free ticket. I cashed in the free ticket for one of the same...and won $85! Woo-hoo!!

you know the last time i was next to rick James i dropped my lottery ticket...............

Just took the cover off to see the damage from Memorial day weekend. Looks like a couple axle tube seals and a new ring and pinion. But that will come later. Right now I will just swap in an entire new axle ready to go, just need to install the locker.:D
