Important

Ok, done treating the XJ to new goodies. My sliders are now off the old jeep and once I repair the driver side one will go on the new Jeep. Underbody armor is done(or will be)!. Just need quarter guards now. C'mon Powerball! :D

<grumble> so, 2 weeks ago, when I'm visiting Dad in the hospital, I get a semi-emergency page from one of my co-workers about a problem transferring some sensitive data to an external vendor. His head is screwed on right, I knew he wouldn't be asking me if it wasn't rather important.

In the 2 weeks since, it's taken the vendor 5 days to respond to what I did bedside in the hospital. And it's been a complete Charlie Foxtrot ever since. Not only did the development side go belly-up, they even managed to kill the production service.

Today, on a conference call, I managed to actually talk to the IT geek at the other end. 15 seconds. That's how long it to to actually fix the problem and test it successfully. And the delay is all because a project manager would not get out of the way, and let the geeks talk it through.

So what you're saying is, you take the proposal from the customer and give it to the engineering department?

Yes.

Why can't the customer just give the proposal to the engineering department?

Well, not quite....

This vendor provides some data processing services (not my choice, this was started long before I started here.) Apparently, they decided some time back to change the IP address where we submit data files. The idiot project manager apparently did not give us any notice that this was going to happen, and insisted that everything go through him on this change. Then, he fails to respond after I scramble to make the change on my end. Between that, and a huge security breach he created, he's getting his ass handed to him.

Watch movies much?

:rof:

Replaced the cat today......is it bad when chunks fall out of the old one? No wonder I did not have any power. The first screen was melted into a blob and separated, the second screen was over half blocked, and attached.

He's in a collar county, IIRC, but his XJ is old enough to be exempt. But we don't talk about defeating mandatory exhaust controls here, though.

Ah..... that would explain it. Haven't seen _Office Space_. Not sure I need to, I have a suspicion I may live a good part of it.

You've never seen office space?
