actually, I'm not sure that I could pull this off by winterfest...and we actually have a plan for something for winterfest other than a tent or the back seat of the truck...and I'm not trying to compete...i just didn't realize you could reasonably get into a used diesel pusher...my truck only gets driven to tow, so i might as well have something that can tow at least 10k and be comfortable...plus you can do some different things with financing with coaches...it will still be nice in another 10 years right?

Somebody talk me back from the ledge!

I've had a bit of a thing for CJ8s since they first rolled off the line when I was eight.

I thought I was pretty much over it. Totally XJ-devout. Hardly even thought about a Scrambler.

But there's just something about this pic:

That just looks right to me.

Tell me I don't really want one.

Do I?

Robert

I'd buy it without hesitation if I had the means. CJ8s are one of the coolest production Jeeps ever IMO, and are getting harder and harder to find.
What's the price on the windshield?

Mac, now is the time to buy. we got ours for $20,000 less than book price when we got it in '05.
Now, it is worth 1/2 what we owe due to the fact that RV prices are in the shitter.
I think you could make money on one if you got the right deal, the prices will come back up and they take the biggest hit in the first two years, after that the hold their value pretty good if you take care of it.

Yep, he's asking 5k obo, and apparently it's been sitting long enough for the tire to go flat.

Sad thing is, I think that's why it caught my eye: that flat tire gave it that little forward rake I like so much.

I've been searching since then and all the level ones look kinda plain to me.

Meh, I need another jeep like I need another psychobitch eatin my groceries...

well i can't afford to buy a pusher that is new...or even a year or two old...i can think about buying in when they are 8 to 10 years old...but still have a lot of life left...

i'm looking at all my options...i'm not even that concerned about making money on it...

hobag...as much as a bus is cool...i need to tow 10k with authority... :)

What so you have something bigger to back over a fire hydrant? Looks nice.

Going to pick up some spare parts for cheap tomorrow.

2 XJ driveshafts, spare 8.25 shaft, cupholders, rear storage cubby, and a rear set of TJ flares. I get all of it for 20 bucks. Now I have to decide do I put the front TJ flares on the XJ or the rears...?

The fronts never look right. 2 pairs of rears do the trick.

What's a fair price for a set of four boring alloy wheels off an XJ? Working a deal on craigslist and I have no idea what "market value" would be on a set. $50? More?

Which ones?

Cheese grater ones. Like this:

Either those or some slanted 5-spokes that the early Grands had.

I gave my factory wheels away, at least that's what they were worth to me.

Parakeet

If it was for someone in NAXJA, I'd consider that or at least let them go cheap, enough to cover my mount/balance costs. But for a random tool on craigslist, I'll ask for a little more.

$100
I wouldn't pay $50, but Jeep parts are stupidly priced around here. If anyone's got anything, they want twice what it's worth(to me anyway). Drives me nuts.
