Important

Stinks to hear Aaron.

As far as air bags I think I confirmed last night when I took my front seats out that I have the "air bag delete package". No control module under the driver's seat. Nice choice on the 2 door, I like mine!

Should be under the console.

Flexd, sucks about the XJ. Any crash you can walk away from though....

that suck to hear about your jeep flex, good thing your ok

WOW Flex sorry to hear that. Jeep was really starting too come together and look nice also.

Today I get to experience letting a Jeep go.

The Commander is really nice but it is actually getting to small for my growing family. Today I trade it in on a nice tow-rig.

Pics to come but I am looking at at

2006 F-150 King Ranch Super Crew. 11,000 lb towing capacity.

Will have plenty of leg room for the growing kids and a whole bed for the Mastiff.

I am sad I love the Commander but realistically its just too small.

Nice pick, i always liked the king ranch package

No way that F-150 has an 11k towing capacity. My 3/4 ton diesel only runs a 13k towing capacity, and I know it's got both more torque and more brakes. GCWR, 11k, probably. More than likely, your max towing is going to be around 8,500 lbs.
Looks like I may have been a little optimistic. Definitely check the door sticker, and the owner's manual before hooking up.

Will do... I am speaking from what the Sales man said. Which could be a lil inflated. I know the commander was towing was 7500 so I believed when he said 11.

Gotta be better than 7500 and stuff. Thanks for the input. I don't intend to pull more than one XJ. The commander was iffy but now I know I can with this.

Oh, hell.... if a sales droid tells me that the sun rises in the east, I'll verify that tomorrow morning myself, thankyewverymuch.

I hate to say this, but the specs I've been looking at range from 6,000 to around 8,500 lbs trailering.

Well scheming throught the f-150 forums I saw a few people talking about 9900.

I will check on the sticker when I pick it up this evening.

Either way the 5.4L has got to pull more than the 4.7L

And all I am looking to pull is 1 XJ so I will be ok.

My 2000 F150 would tow 7 or 8k without an issue. I want to say that newer F150's are closing in on 10k or over towing capacity...

Specs for a 5.4l towing are at the higher end. It'll still depend on axle ratio. You should be in good shape.

You could always hedge your bets by buying a Featherlite aluminum trailer..... :D

What about a 3/4ton Ram like the one you were driving Rob. With a short bed of course.

KBB says 9400-9500 Towing Cap. with the 5.5' or 6.5' bed. Thats 2wd though. GVWR of 7050.

My FSM states under the driver's seat. Which is where I have a hole in the carpet with four studs sticking up. I will however take a peek under the counsel.

I'm Alive, The Jeep and Her Benz not so much! I was traveling east heading home. She was coming West and decided to turn Left I turned right a bit to avoid a head on impact and my drivers front hit her drivers front and it deflected me and I Slid down the Hill. The Jeep can be replaced but I need to call and thank JCR for those bulletproof rails that kept my side of the Jeep intact. I honestly don't think they are even bent! The ARB is Toast but Held up well for hitting a car at around 50mph. I am on the look out for a 97-99 with around 3 inches of lift, preferably a 2 door. All I can really say is that Airbag dust is TERRIBLE! :puke:

Gah! What'd you do to my bumper?!?

Seriously, though, glad you're okay.

I think the ARB was bad luck, wasn't that like the third "incident" you've had since you bolted it on?

X2 on the pics!

Robert

No just one. The first 2 hit the hitch in the rear! That Bumper probably saved my life Robert!
