I just had a pretty crappy day. Ended up skipping the stuff I needed to get done to finish up a bunch of stuff that should have been done by others. Apperently, finishing a job or letting me know that it isn't complete is too much to ask from some of our employees. I need to get one of them trained to run the forklift, but the thought of any of them on it scares the heck out of me. The worst part is, these are the best workers I've been able to find in this area. They got a polaris ranger stuck so bad today that I had to lift (not pull) it out with an excavator, and demolished a pressure washer. They will be getting a little pep talk tomorrow.

Anyone in the Evansville area looking for a job?
 
I hear AT&T is cutting 12K jobs, maybe you could get some good help there :D

Damn, people getting laid off everyday and a guy still can not find good help!
 
Since everyone is crying about stuff...

With 2 weeks left in the semester, someone decides its a good idea to change the time of a class, after everyone should be enrolled. Now it conflicts with another class. No big deal, I didn't want to listen to that guy talk for a whole semester anyways.:looney:

So the lab for the class I pick up instead conflicts with yet another class, but the teacher will waive it, after I get the paperwork filled out: basically the sig's of both teachers. I go to get the sig of the other teacher, and they tell me he's only around for the spring semester! He's in China right now.:gee:

You'd think that a Mechanical Engineering degree and a minor in Manufacturing would go hand in hand, but the Engineering College and Tech College are barely cognescent of eachother! Gosh.
 
Waking up this morning to below 0 temps!! Looks like I will get a few things taken care of in the garage today and fish the weekend away:D Camped in the dd jeep last weekend fishing and just might take the van this weekend.
If I keep this up the woody will never be ready for Winterfest.!!
 
Better get to work on the woody now. Oh, how time flies when you're avoiding working on something for an event.

Finally got my ACOS and new springs installed. It seems that the broken coilspring was the culprit for my death wobble. Now I need to rebuild the driveshafts, shim the rear axle up towards the t-case and get some rims to put my 33's on and I'll be ready for WF. More than likely it will be a last minute dash to get ready though.
 
Yeah its cold here, good stuff. Headed to Houghton for the weekend, I hear they have a ton of snow already.
 
Found out this morning Cummins is Laying Off 500 people company-wide. 40 in our plant but i'm safe(for now)!

Finding out the squeal coming from the rear end is actually the outer pinion bearing = pissedoffedness

On the plus side, I have a rebuilt d-shaft and a spare centering yoke.

I match injector tips with the needles that go inside them. I run 2 grinders that grind the ID of the needles. Pretty easy job. Well worth the pay!

...and the pinion bearings is a cake job. Ask me how I know.:D

You haven't dodged them completely. They say after they get done with retirement deals they will can more if they don't have enough volunteers. I wish you luck. Cummins has put a hold on a couple of purchase orders we have been dicussing with them. Makes me a little nervous also.
