Not as cool as this though...

I powdercoated the retainers last weekend to match my pinion support. For some reason the powder is pink until you cure it. While they were in the oven I went to the gas station to get something to drink and everyone was looking at me funny. It took me a bit to realize that my feet were bright pink.

I am hoping that it was from the powder coat and not your Elton John starter kit :D

:roflmao:

I'll have to share that one with my step-dad. He made me clean every speck of pink powder off of his floor before I left, didn't want anyone to get any ideas...

It was nice out! I was wearing sandals.

Did you have a "tan line" from the sandals?

Expy started throwing codes yesterday. P1401. Searching Ford forums shows it is related to carbon buildup in the TB. Looks like the spring tuneup needs to happen sooner rather than later. I would imagine after 160k the TB would be fairly dirty, I'm sure the previous owners never had it off to clean. That shouldn't be too bad, I'm dreading the spark plugs though. Ford had the bright idea to put the back 2 plugs/coil packs under the fuel rail under the cowl on the 5.4L. :twak:

Nah, I'm going to pull it off and clean it properly with carb/choke cleaner. I may run some Seafoam through the vacuum line, but we'll see about that.

Search a couple of Ford sites ref changing those spark plugs. I changed mine on my 00 F150 with the 5.4, when I owned it at 65k. Just take your time, be careful, and be gentle. Took me about 3 hours. I was in no rush and scared to f' it up...

mac 'those spark plugs are buried DEEP' gyvr

damn, things are running slow around here :D

Everyone survive the storms over the past 24 hours? We have had a sh*t pot full of rain and had some hail yesterday evening. Not enough hail to total out a vehicle or get me a new roof though :(

It's pretty wet here. Soggy, soggy, soggy. A few thunder boomers and that was about it.

The Twin Cities have about an inch of sludge on the ground. 30 miles south last night was rain, thunder and lightning.

Sounds like the farther north you go, the more unpleasant it gets.

If anyone is going to be around Fort Wayne, Indiana on the 25th or 26th of April, I'm going to be moving into my newtome house... I should have quite a bit of local help, but if someone was looking for something to do...

mac 'hope to get jeep ready for the trailer and moved soon' gyvr
