Yeah, I thought about that yesterday. I suppose it ended up being a poor choice of words. I was trying to refer to the threat that cancelled school during finals. They said the two events aren't related, tho.

There is a girl I work with who was in the classroom. I have no idea how she's doing, just heard about her being there when I was at work. And a friend of mine was next door when it happened an saw 4 people get loaded in ambulances. I talked to her last night and she seems to be ok, said she was shocked more than anything, that it was happening right in front of her pretty much.

I can relate to this a little bit...

My grandfather left my dad a bunch of guns from the WWII era and some newer ones. When I was in junior high someone broke into our house and took it all, the bastards even took my NES power glove and Mike Tyson knockout. Things that would have been passed down to my brother and I (the guns ).

We had S/Ns but couldn't find them apparently. Retrieved nothing.

Worst part was when they found the guys house and searched his barn and found everything. Since my dad is our insurance agent, we got to see the video of the raid and he could identify every gun that was his, but we couldn't claim any of it since we didn't have the S/Ns.

So what happens to those guns? Since no one could prove they were stolen, did the thief get to keep them? Or do they get auctioned off at a police auction? I don't see the harm in taking a man's word, especially after an event like that.

Our house got broken into when I was in grade school. My sister and I came home and the house was torn apart. It looked like that It Takes a Thief show. My Dad's guns (4 rifles) were stolen (along with other stuff), but we got those back. IDK if he had the S/Ns or what, but I do remember going to the police station after they found the guys and seeing their camaro in the lockup with jewelery spread out all over the top. Seems to me that we got a check from the insurance for tools, etc that weren't recovered.

The thief had already fled the country. As far as I know there is still a warrant out for his arrest. Can't remember the name.

He had hundreds of thousands of dollars of stuff stashed in the barn.

Our house was broken into when I was in college. They stole a bottle of change, some cash, a VCR, and two antique shotguns. We got one back, even without a S/N. The gun was too old for one. It was at a pawn shop known for stolen guns.

The second they found when some other piece of shit treid to use it in a robbery. It had been sawed off and ruined. But it blew up on the robber.. So it got its revenge.

We are also going to hit some gun shops in a 50 mile radius, Pawn shops in Rockford do not accept guns anymore.
I was told by a shop owner that on average 110 guns per day are stolen in the Rockford area!

I guess I better write down the serial #s on my grandfather's guns, they're not just valuable, but sentimental. Doesn't stop me from shooting them though

The job is for an energy company (natural gas/oil drilling)....they have a lot of remote well sites that have some equipment at that I might need to get to....which would require some off-road driving. So it was a good thing, this time
