Friday AM I wake with my yearly freakin' head cold. It usually happens whenever we get high humidity a cool temperatures ... which we had last week (three days of fog). Saturday AM i wake up, cannot hear shit, blowin' snot like shit through a tin horn, to find out I have no water pressure. Unlike you city boys, I cannot call the water company. I test the curcuits to find power all the way to the well casing. I got to pull a pump this weekend as well as cut enough wood to keep my ass warm. It was a lovely 20 degrees today with heavy wind ... I did not have time to get weather data, but it was cold as hell.

At least the head cold I have is about gone ... guess it didn't want to hang around for this. All together, it's costing me about $400 bucks. I ain't bitchin' though ... adversity makes you a stronger individual.

Thanks Jim ... Aaron was here helpin'. If I ever do need help, I holler. I'd hate to ask people to come a distance though, especially when I have family here close.

I have electric heat ... but it's the cieling cable type. It is about as comfortable as hot sun on a cold day. Plus, anyone spoiled with the comfort of wood heat, understands there is no substitute ... especially when it's very cold. Besides, it's the only way to heat my favorite room ... the garage!

I came to an agreement on a house on Saturday...

It has a 28x60 garage.
The garage has 100 amp sub box, is insulated, dywalled, and has its own house type gas furnace for heat...

The house is a regular dumb 3 bedroom 1.5 baths blah blah blah

I should close a week or so after winterfest...

1/4" of ice on the vehicles this morning, streets are dead in town. VU actually has a 2 hour delay, I have never heard of a college doing that. IUPUI was always open no matter the weather. Just as well, I hate my speech class anyway :lecture:

I remember back in the winter of 2000 that Missouri State canceled classes during finals due to an ice storm that then had about a foot of snow piled on top of it in a few hours. The whole town of Springfield was in total chaos. It worked out great for me since I had finals

I don't recall SIUC ever canceling classes when I was there. May have happed though. Seems like there's not a whole lot that I retained from my stay down there.:dunce:

There were several times my XJ was the only one in the parking garage at IUPUI during the winter. Most classes ended up cancelled anyway, but I usually spent the day at the library taking advantage of the super high speed internet. That was before I got kicked off Napster

So far they've cancelled classes 2x since I've been there, one just last week and once about a year ago. There was that other time, but it wasn't related to snow.
