Important

I put my old mower on craigslist today, and have had 8 people call and say they want to come pick it up. I said ok to the first one and a couple others are trying to convince me to sell it to them. Guess I should have asked for more than $50.......

Got to ride my grandpa's old John Deere 300 from 1974 Yesterday. My uncle had to put it up for sale. Wish I had a yard for it I would own it.

Guy showed up with 3 20's and a 5 and offered me 45. I said I have already had 8 people call the price is 50. So he asked for change, I had $2 on me. So he tried talking me down to 45 a little harder I told him to have a good ride home ( I knew he came 30 miles because of his license plate). Long story short bring the right change to my house or you will end up paying more for the item.....Made an extra $8 on the deal.

nice work Brian. I once charged people $12 a car to park in a fraternity houses front yard for a MU/Nebraska game...funny thing was that no one had any $1 bills, so they all gave me $15 and were happy to park in that lawn...probably pissed off the Lambda Chi's who's lawn it was...I did not belong to their frat :D true story, honest..and I made enough $ to buy my booze for the whole game

When I bought the race car for $400, I brought $400.

I went home with $40 in my pocket, but that's because his son was a Marine and I don't think the guy really needed the money, so he wanted to buy my family dinner.

I had a much different experience with my first attempt to buy a racecar. That guy sold it out from underneath me the night before after we agreed on a time to see it on a saturday. It was a 3 hour drive for me.

Wow, He bought you dinner? I wouldn't! :D :kissyou:

If the guy had come with 50 and offered me 40 I probably would have taken it, but to try to get a deal because he expected me to have change is what I really didn't care for.

I hadn't driven the heep since I backed it off the trailer from WF, but I was forced into DDing it today when the clutch master cylinder in the truck failed. The t'case chain is making a TON of noise... need to fix one vehicle or the other so I can get around!

Back from Madison, didn't make it to that place, but I'll keep it in mind for next time. Mission accomplished on getting somewhat intoxicated, drank Guinness most of the night. Valet managed to ding my door into the concrete wall the jeep was parked next to, and I already didn't like the valet idea, this just confirms it.

But then I had to sit in the assembly room for five hours and listen to political banter, kinda really didn't make my head feel any better. Nap time now, so I can do it again tonight. :D

Also, if you want to get a feel for what the elite of wildland firefighting do, I caught part of CMT's "Smokejumpers" last night. Someday, I'll do that if I feel like it.

my bathroom destruction starts every morning about the same time :D if your having problems, ther are many remedies on the market, but some PBR will usually help ya get things going.... :D:D wait, are we talking about the same kind of bathroom destruction?? :dunno:

Could be ,I stripped walls all day with a pry bar and hammer. Is there another way???:D

Overall, I'm pleased with the progress.

*&%$ing deer. Been driving for 20 years now, never hit one til tonight. Couldn't have been much over 100#, but it wiped out that front corner, kicked a dent in the door, and crapped on the side of my Heep. Just a fantastic weekend so far.

the jeep finally failed me last week. first time in 3yrs ive had to get dad to tow it home. cps decided to quit while cruisin down the hwy. it was the icing on the cake for an already crappy night (date stood me up) so now im rollin in the festiva. life is good (sarcasm) :banghead:

I feel like I've driven a pretty wide range of vehicles, but the small crappy cars are always the most fun. So, there's your bright side. Also, that your Jeep didn't die while you were actually ON the date (provided she had shown up).

Some people have respect for other people that work 70 hour weeks, stand 24 hour duties once a month and barely see their families.

Your unemployed ass obviously doesn't :moon:

Geez Josh, I wasn't trying to piss in your Cheerios! :laugh3:

Checking in.

Grandpa passed away a few weeks ago. No sympathy needed, he went the way he would have wanted to. Worked right up to the end. My grandma refuses to take any time off work, she plans to do the same. Hard work is all they know. Wish more people still thought the way they do.

Grandpa used to have an international dealer, and we always talked about cub cadets. I now have 3 of them.

Haven't had any time to work on the jeep lately, but going to start working on it again this week.

Hug yer Grandma. I'll bet she needs it.

Finally found a picture of Dad that I thought I'd lost:

Gotta do a little digital editting, and get it printed & framed for the house.

My grandpa did the same thing Travis, No need to feel sorry about it. He lived a long and full life that should be celebrated instead of mourned.

Been noticing oil in the driveway, underneath the F250. Looks like the whole front of the pan is covered in oil. Did some reading and I guess on the 7.3s, the oil pans like to rust away. They ought to cover these things in oil or something to keep them from rusting, heh.

Looks like the job is 11.5 hours of labor so I'm guessing they have to pull the motor to do it. I'm certainly not 100% sure the oil pan is the problem, but it sounds expensive to repair so that's probably it (preparing for the worst). Seems important enough to repair that I'll put the brakes, shocks, sway bar links and ball joints on the back burner and deal with this first.

Just the kind of thing I'm excited about getting fixed on a new-to-me vehicle.
