note to self.....clean out splattered deer pieces from under truck....smells like hell when it burns on the exhaust :D

Nuts. Just got a call from my brother. Dad's back in the hospital again, with a very low blood-oxygen level. He's been on O(2) overnight, but the docs haven't figured out WHY his bO level is so low.

Best of luck Jeff. Thoughts and prayers coming at ya brutha.

I swapped in 4.88's last week. I did it at a buddys shop, used his 2 post lift, breezed right through it with no major problems. I only had time to do the rear, I plan to do the front in a few weeks. Just for insurance, I pulled the front driveshaft. I took a look under the jeep this morning looking at other stuff and noticed something on the TC skid. It was the bolts and straps for the front DS! Keep in mind that I drove a 300 mile trip in the eye of Ike to Marks lift party! Not to mention all the driving I've done this past week! Those 2 straps and bolts were in the same place I left them when I dropped the shaft! Unbelievable!

hope all is well Jeff.

nice work on the bolts and straps Mike, I bet that you could not do that again if ya tried!

Probably a good thing we didn't bring that ZJ home last weekend. The seller emailed me today and said when he started it up to move it, the engine had a bad knock to it and he was going to take in to his mechanic. I told him we didn't want the vehicle with that issue on top of the other things we found.

Back to square one.

Update on Dad: pneumonia. Nothing more than that, fortunately.

And boy, did it lay him *OUT*. I talked to him tonight a couple of hours ago. He couldn't stay warm, couldn't even stand up. He's gonna be in there for at least another couple of days.

I'll cheerfully take the good news like this for Dad.

Thanks, all.

2 Post Lift, Nice , When I did my 4.88's .I was dreaming of that very setup..

I agree unbelievable on your straps and bolts. Must be some good roads in your area.

No not really, I think the grease and icky pucky just made them stick to the skid. :dunno: The day after, I took a nice drive to get the gears good and warm. I went all through the country, down gravel and even a dirt road. Yes, there are still some county roads that are dirt. :D I just wish I could remember what I did with the bolts to the DS for the TC end!

I'll take all those happy thoughts now...... he took a turn downhill overnight.

He's in a stepped down ICU at the moment, and is getting knocked out and put on a ventilator for more tests. And it's not sure anymore that it really is pneumonia.

x11 billion what everyone else said.

Hope it all works out for you and your dad, Jeff. If the energy of all the well wishers has ANY power to it your dad should be okay.

sorry to hear that bro . My condolences are headed your way bro
