Thanks. Kim rolled her eyes when I showed her the pic :D Once this comes home, we will have a red XJ, a red ZJ and a dark red Durango. Weird.

Nice find Byron. We gonna see that on the trail? :D

Looks good Byron!

Our family(my side and Wyfie's side) have all white vehicles. Not planned at all, just happened that way.

It is nice to have the Jeeps balls back. Maybe I need some truck nutz now? :D

Ready to head out.
Q: Would you be a little bit scared to drive this to Moab?

Me too

Well, for now the XJ is still my DD. We went to look at the ZJ today; found an oil leak, A/C that doesn't work and a broken driver's seat. Kim vetoed it for now, but we're going to talk about it more this week. Gotta love spending 7+ hours in the car for basically nothing.

Anyone know how hard a rear main seal is to change on a 5.2?

I like it Brad

Hopefully Brad will be on the road and not off in the ditch! :scared:

Randy, if you're by the south burbs at all, stop by. Otherwise, see ya in Moab.

not sure if the 5.2 is a one piece or two piece rear main...i'd be more conerned about the a/c and all with your 5 or 6 kids you'll want that working...

the a/c on the zj's usually go out with a leaky condensor or something that is under the dash...an all day job and 5-600 in parts plus a recharge...plus if your that far into it you'll want to do a heater core at the same time...

there are a million zj's out there...look for that 5.9 zj too, my neighbor picked one up a couple of months ago with 120k for 3 grand...its in good shape too...

Remote from the KOA in Stanton, MO. We were in the Rafting Co & RV resort until the rain last night. Woke up this morning to 1-1/2 ft. of water around the motor home thanks to Ike. The camp ground owners suggested moving to higher ground. Tried but the motor home was stuck. They brought down a 1/2 ton Ford and tried to pull it out. Sean had to lay in the water and hook a chain up to the axle. Motor homes don't have tow points. It wouldn't pull in out, so they brought down a 1 ton dodge which didn't work either. Then comes the back hoe, finally the motor home moved!! Now we are at a camp ground with higher elevation. Got to spend the afternoon at Lawn cher's. Great to see some old friends again.

2 piece seal, shouldn't be too bad. I'm gonna replace the oil pump while I'm in there.

A/C issues stem from a leaking evaporator core on those body styles, parts aren't too bad if you do side jobs for a buddy with a shop ;)

We're going to go ahead and get it, after looking around Indy and looking at a thousand vehicles online, this one will work for the money we have to spend. Keep in mind we're using solely the cash gained from the Expedition sale; this will leave a bit of a buffer for parts/etc.

The body/uniframe/interior are just about spotless, so once I go through the drivetrain a bit, it should be a solid runner for a while (or at least until I have a state vehicle :D)

we got Ike in da fort yesterday...i watched power lines arcing in the back yard while i was trying to call the power company...then the power went out...

no power for over 8 hours...glad i bought that generator at home depot when they went out of business about 3 months ago...

yep, i that guy, cold beer in the garage fridge, working on the jeep...and no power...
