The plot has been revealed today. The cleaning lady, whom the boss likes, wanted to move up. So my wife, whom the boss dislikes, got the boot.

Oh and the kicker? This is an animal research job with primates, and my wife was one of only 2 people there with a degree.

Been there done that.

I was let go from a job as a service advisor so the oil change guy, who just so happened to be a tech's son, could move up.

Looking back at it though, it is one of the best things that has ever happened to me.

Heh. You'll get a chuckle out of this.

A good friend of mine (known her for 25 years,) has a dual PhD, one in computational chemistry, and one in computer science. She was one of the folks who got me into Pharmacia several years ago. A PhD is a badge of honor there. She changed jobs internally, and moved from a research position down into the I.S. Library, where she was the *ONLY* person with a PhD. It took 4 tries before the department would actually print her business cards with Dr. on them.

On the day I started, I made it a point to stop in the library after lunch, and inquire where Dr. Richardson sat. All I got was a blank stare. "Wendy." "Oh! 2 cubes down on your left."

Best part about this was that her boss was sitting right there. :D

Had surgery on the foot again today, almost good as new, best part was 3 hours afterwards I was working on the jeep again.

Glad to hear that.:yelclap:

Did some work on the Jeep myself today, finally.

Re-worked the cargo area, installed a RE trackbar bracket and brace and actually drove it for 30 min :D

How is your dad ramaham?
He's doing fine, talked with him earlier. Things have settled as the army has moved in to keep the slight peace there is. The only international airport is still closed, he may have to drive to damascus to catch a flight.

Friggin post whore!

Speaking of post counts you're gonna overtake me soon for most posts in this thread.

Did some wheeling today, IDNR wanted to show off Redbird to the Reclamation Dept. since they are in charge of land useage, so they had a few members of RMG come out and take people on a trail ride. All went well until this guy decided to check a u-joint in the middle of a trail:

He decided to try and straddle the ruts in the hole instead of going through. Not a good choice. Needless to say, the DNR employees got a kick out of it :D Got to use my winch to pull him back over though. Good times.

Now that I have a few months away from school, I need to fix my steering issues. I was looking at doing the OTK steering; wondering who runs what and how much lift you've got now. I don't want to do something then have to do it again when I grow a few more inches. I'm at ~3.5" now.
Also, is there a reason people don't make their own steering components? They seem really simple, but everyone seems to buy them for around $200. Do you not trust your life with your welding abilities, or am I missing something?

Broke in the jeep today after sitting dormant for so long, had a blast, but I did manage to snap my traction bar almost in half, bouncing on a ledge with 42s puts all kinds of stress on parts.
