No big damage where I'm at. Mt. Carmel has some broke stuff though.(50 miles SE of me) Just the typical "knocked pictures over" here. I'm surprised at how loud they are.

I recomend chains. The straps may stretch and come loose if they get wet and the temp changes.

Ummmm....... you're using the wrong straps, then.

Dad & my brother use 4" straps to hold down cherry tanks from the orchard to the cannery. As the cherries are hauled in water, those straps go from dry to wet back to dry frequently. And even when new, they don't lengthen.

There's advantages and disadvantages to both. I prefer chains, but they're more difficult to manage, and certainly more expensive.

We usually run a chain through the D rings on the front bumper as well. That, along with the 4 2"ers, should be sufficient.

I use a 2" strap on each corner with axle straps around the tube in back and through the inner Cs in the front. No problems, I usually tie the ratchet handle down with a zip tie or something to prevent it popping open.

It's all in how you strap it. I pull it on, put the Jeep in Park, strap the front semi-tight, throw the Jeep in Neutral and pull the front straps tight with the rears, throw it back in Park (4lo/Park/ebrake because I'm paranoid) and it's good to go.

When towing I use four 4" straps. One at each tire around the axle at a downward angle. Never had a strap come loose in any weather conditions. HTH.
