On my JCR bumper I had to mount the solenoid box right next to the winch. Dunno if that would work for you or not.

Sucker is heavy, took all my 140lb butt had to get the box in the house when it arrived :D

I don't have the boomer box, just the plane-jane solenoid box. I don't think the cables are long enough to go to the drivers side with it but, I haven't messed with it really. I think I'll go out and mess with it now for a while.

Wouldn't the Bears been better off to let that game go? Better picks?
I'm all for the Packers getting stomped though.:D

Gotcha. Wouldn't be too hard to whip up new cables if you have to though. Shoot, I have the box zip-tied to the grille on the 01.

reminds me...I need to put my synthetic line on.
I got the green, and its a pretty damn ugly green if you ask me.

Winch is now functional.

I ended up mounting the box where it's supposed to be. I flipped the brackets around and tweeked them just a hair to make it work. I have just enough room to insert the pendant into the box. It think it'll be just fine. Anyhow, numb fingers, numb nose and an hour later, it's functional. :)

Nice. You and Jim have the closest to identical XJs I have ever seen :looser:

Wasn't planned that way. Funny thing is that there is a guy at work with one that looks just like the both of ours! He's on here; Drifter5621030210 or something like that. There is another one in Olney that looks real close too. I have been stopped twice now with someone calling me "Brad". "Oh, you're not Brad, didja know there's a guy in Olney with a Jeep just like that?"

Course, we all know who's is the best......:shhh:

Well, I got the beasty Tmax mounted. It's a big dag-gum winch. Small dilemma. I can't mount the solenoid box on top of the winch like I had intended. The winch is too tall and if the box is vertical, the plug is directly in line with the hoop on the bumper. If I mount it horizontal, the box is too big and hits the hoop. So, if and when I ever get a chance to mess with it, I'm going to explore the possibility of mounting the box behind the grill and just cutting the grill enough to pop the pendant plug in and out. I dunno, we'll see.

Oh, and Nate;
My box said 95lbs. I didn't bitch and moan about how heavy it was.......not even once.:D

it's lighter than the superwinch then, the UPS tag on that said 130.
Did it come with any stuff?

They're only supposed to be used indoors. You didn't read the manuel did ya! Ours is very touchy indoors, there's no way you could control it outside with even a slight breeze. When the heat kicked on in the house it mess with it.

we couldnt control it (my little brother couldnt) inside, and it kept hitting the ceiling. so we took it outside to see how high it would go and it caught a gust of wind and ended up on the roof of the neighbors.

my brother didnt have the paitence to fine tune the helicopter so it would hover correctly, in fact, he messed it up so bad that at one point it would only spin in circles rather then ascend...lol

his toy not mine...lol

Well, I got me a IR helicopter from the in-laws this evening. Not the Air Hogs brand, this one looks like a Huey. It's charging now.:D

Merry Christmas everyone!
