Well snapped the belt on the lawn mower last week and have been trying to find a replacement for it. It's a ½"x99"long belt. All the stores either have the 98" long one or the 100" long belt. Does anybody think it would hurt it at all to go with a belt that's either an inch smaller or an inch bigger? Just trying options before I have to order online.

Is there an adjustment for the tension?

This is just the belt that spins the blades on the deck. There is another belt that goes from the deck to the motor. The belt that spins the blades is the one I'm trying to fix. There is a tentioner on the deck.

This is one of those cheap mtd/huskee lawn mowers that you get at Lowes or tsc. Lowes doesn't carry that belt and tsc doesn't either. They just have the size above and below what I need.

Thanks for help guys, guess I will just order it online. Was hoping to be able to just get it in town and not have to deal with online stuff.

Ran all new plumbing to the laundry room in the house on Saturday/Sunday. spent a lot of time getting to know the crawl space. had a couple chats with Fred the big black spider who just sat in his corner all day and watched me work. after everything was done i figured id take a little break from working and relax. after about 3 hours i got back up to put the washer and drier in the room.... hooked everything up, guess what, no power in any of the outlets. ohh the joys of a new home.

the seller clearly stated he wouldn't fix anything so i figured id save a couple bucks. we got the place for a good enough price that im Ok with fixing stuff. just wished id wouldn't have wasted time "relaxing" now i have to work on it today. the sooner i get these little honey do type projects done the sooner i can get started on the fun one, the bar.

We had no power to one leg on the dryer plug in when we bought this house. The dryer would spin and the timer would work, but no heat. I tested the outlet a couple times and had voltage. So I spent a pissload of money swapping parts onto the dryer figuring my BILs and buddies who helped move everything damaged something in the process. Still nothing. So I broke down and bought a new dryer. Got it installed... Spins and the timer runs..no heat. Checked it one more time, yup voltage... Realized I always checked the same leg not both of them and a dryer uses two 110v legs not a true 220v. Went do to the circuit breakers and the wire for the second leg is tucked in the back of the panel. Attached it and bingo the dryer worked.

Hi

Took today off to seal my not up to code deck.

alright. I've been with my company for 9 years and doing the fleet mechanic part for 10 months. I got a dollar and some change an hour raise but lost at least 10 hours a pay period so it really only leveled it self out. The guy that was training me lost his job for being an idiot so I've been doing his job now too for the past 5 months.
I was offered a job at a local tow place that primarily does big rigs and heavy wrecker work as their fleet guy at their new sub station and they offered a $2/hr raise. now I'm comfortable where I am and get a lot of freedom and don't really have a boss so I would like to stay where I am but that raise sounds good right now since I'm trying to buy a house. I want to approach my supervisor and ask for a raise from them but I've never done that. should I tell him about the offer? should I tell him how much I want? should I start high and settle on what I want? they are looking to hire another tech here but cant get anyone to pass the strict backgrounds we have to work here so I think I have some to bargaining power with that too
