Important

Well I went out and picked up my grandpas trailer last night and checked on my camper real quick and the dang laminate flooring cracked in a bunch of spots. I guessed it was because of the extreme cold we had here. After looking on the internet this morning it seems to be a pretty common issue when it gets really cold.

Anybody ever replace the linoleum in a camper before?

I did in the truck camper we had. It had a vinyl and we just went over the top of it with wood laminate flooring. Easy to work with, no glue or messy stuff to deal with.

Can someone bring my crawl stuff back to Indiana if we can't make it? I just preregistered, but we won't know until after the cutoff date if I will be able to drive...hence making the trip.

Just some tshirts and stickers...

Don't worry I didn't buy any raffle tickets....

Drove most of the way up pike's peak today. The top had 10' of snow so it was closed. Pretty wild that guys race up that at the speeds they do. Pics are on fb.

Not sure what the odds are...

Maybe fall Redbird...

I need to meet the asshole that glued the carpet down and whoop his ass.

Or be thankful it was glued down rather than laid with tack strips, which would leave you with a zillion probably rust stained nail holes all around the perimeters. Scrap off the bulk of the gunk, sand and finish, should look great! I'm working on replacing some oak stair treads that were ruined with carpet staples, materials and labor just shy of $5k.

Ugh the glue is old...from previous carpet...

There was another round of carpet with staples and tack strips...those were removed a few weeks ago...

Should I use wood filler in the holes...will it stain the same? Recommend a filler?

A work buddy is coming over Sunday to sand...with the stuff I'm going to rent...

Looking at a Chicago-area trip in the coming months. Would like to take Case to see Michigan Ave and the museums etc. I need to catch up with John and Cindy to get the inside scoop on Hawaii for our anniversary next year and thought I would try to see if the other NAXJA peeps may be up for a lunch or dinner one night. You Chicago guys, what's a good way to take in the sites affordably?

I don't have much experience with finishing floors, but I've had decent results using Famowood filler (original, haven't tried the latex) before finishing, at least on oak. Or Color Putty works good after staining.

Your biggest expense will be parking.
You can price line a hotel for <$100 per night, but they will charge you $50-$75 to park there plus parking when you go elsewhere.
If I were you, I would find someone you know who lives near a Metra Station, leave your car at his house, and use public transportation while there.
I know a guy who lives on a dead end gravel road out in the boonies but is still 30 mins from a Metra station. That guy might even come in to the city for a day.
Think how "urban" Case would feel riding the subway with his cowboy boots!
We could even stop by Mr. Excuses house and pee off of his front porch.
"waaa, my kid is sick."
"waaa, my wife had to work late."
"waaa, I got sand in vagina."
