Important

Yes, I will probably get a rebate check for $3000.00 when it is all added up.
Home Depot will also give you 11% off too just ask.
Did I mention I went there to buy a new Cub Cadet?
Ever tried to carry 18 foot treated lumber out the Depot front door?

Yeah, me neither. You want to be a lumber yard, don't expect customers to put stuff like that on a cart and take it through your store

They all have their good and bad points, H.D. has better quality lumber on the floor. their treated lumber is not soaking wet. Menard's sells a lot of off brand crap that is not good quality, like lighting and tools. Menard's has a better contractor's department staffed with people who know WTF they are doing. H.D. tries, and Lowe's could give a shit less if contractors buy from them, but they do sell nice stuff. Menard's started selling groceries so people with contractor's cards can buy food their and get the rebates they offer.
H.D.'s contractor's program is the best around right now, $0.10 off per gallon of fuel for every $100.00 I charge on my H.D. card, plus 2% cash back on total purchases. I end up getting a tank of fuel per month for free and a rebate check for a couple hundred dollars per year from both Menard's and H.D.
I buy tools at Lowe's, they sell name brand tools and good prices.

Home Depot gets my money more often then not. Have a better selection of better stuff then Menard's, Lowes normally has a great tool section with helpful staff.

Hd has a nice toolbox on sale for 500, kinda thinking about getting it so I can get all my tools into one place.

I used to have a Home Depot with in spitting distance of me. But that store went out with in the first year I lived at this house. I had a buddy that was friends with the manager so I had some inside info on the sales and spent a lot of money there.

Now Lowe's is a couple minutes away. Some days are worse that others there. The other home depot and the menards are both 15 minute drives, not worth it if I need something quick.

I got a Lowes card that gives me 5% off to use it. Did 18 mons same as cash on the snowblower. Haven't given them a penny in interest when I did nearly $2500 in the bathroom.

mac 'still like my craftsman tools' gyvr

Hate running out of welding wire mid weld. I knew I should have picked some up the other day. Off to Northern.

HD is 5min from the house, Lowes is 10+, Menards is 15-20 depending on traffic.

How big?

I picked up a 72" from Menards a couple months ago for $599

Was it the big ass stainless steel one? I thought about picking one of them up but I didn't want it till I move.

I think this one is only 48". Plenty big enough for me. Problem would be I would have to put shit away if I got it....

this is what prevents me from buying a bigger tool box...that and i would be tempted to buy more tools if i did. right now i'm trying to shop for tools to work on the house. i need a miter box and belt sander and another impact for the garage. i wish i still had a lowes nearby. when i lived in iowa, my home depot and menards basically shared the same parking lot and lowes was a 10 minute drive further down the road. lowes for tools, HD for lumber and menards for everything else. that was my rule

I shop at home depot, because it's the only place for 20 miles.

87 'one horse town' manche

each of the three Menards are 30 miles from my house. HD and Lowe's are across the street from each other and I have to drive past Menards to get to them.

no small dealers where I live, the closest place buys their lumber from Menard's. Hell.. its 15 miles to even a hardware store.

w_'what the hell is a horse town'howey

Craigslist was bringing the heavy with the idiots this weekend. Listed my gooseneck trailer, my car trailer and a kids race dirt bike...all adds said "cash only, no trades". First 20 texts were asking if I wanted to trade for anything or if I would ship and they paypal me funds. My 2 replies....#1: I only trade for cash, #2 Go F**K yourself. But as of today I believe I did find a buyer for everything! :D

Just wait, the best is when they start asking for more pictures.
I tell them to come look at it.
You have to mean to them, they are all idiots!
