Important

Found out this weekend that this is a must have in the tool box.

I will have one by the weekend.

Going to Rocks and Valleys this weekend for the Easter Egg Hunt with my granddaughter. Hoppy, hoppy, hoppy.

I have one of those and an extra mess of tubing.

Re: Re: Important

Does work. Probably work for 8.8's too. Pretty sure they're the same pads.

way more swept area on the rotor. Buy two bags of clips. You need the .025 ones.

Congress is going to kill them.

What are you trying to accomplish? What's the advantage?

Our base up here had f-15s? They found out they were on the chopping block so we got a-10s, now they are on the chopping block faster than the others so se are getting the 15s back.

Were the a-10s from the fort?

It's one of the best weapons we have, IMO. Those things can absolutely devastate a building with the 20mm! They were headed west when I saw them.

Sam is yours a 242 or 231?

231

i did not get under it, but when i was playing with the linkage a couple months ago it was rusty and stiff and shity. so im hoping to just get a new linkage.

main objective yesterday was to get home after the alternator quit. i had to drive into Lafayette to get a new one and knew the rain was coming. pulling the drive shaft off took 10min in a sand storm. so i did not worry to much about it then. i think i will order up a new linkage and take a look this weekend.

Or pull the factory linkage and just clean it up, the 5.9's was a mess when I swapped tcases. I got it apart, cleaned it up with the grinder, greased it, and it was a lot better.

Jennie's is a pain in the dick to shift. It stayed in full time all winter.

the factory ZJ pad only hits about half the rotor. The brackets also had the typical groves worn in them where the pad was riding, causing them to hang and get hot.
Wrangler Unlimited pads have a larger throat where they go on the bracket. I skim coated the grooves with JB weld, used ZJ front caliper abutment clips and slapped the TJ pads on.
So a crap ton more swept area on the rotor, (like all of it, barely cleared the casting at the bottom) and I didn't have to weld and grind the brackets to repair them, the stainless steel clips are the new wear point for the pads. JB weld was just to keep the clips supported so they didn't get mashed into the nasty grooves.

the bushings are cheap, buy new ones. The rust jacking kills them.

I have to back up, put in neutral while moving and slam the thing into 2wd.

Novak's cable linkage is awesome.

Ordering shackle relo boxes as soon as I get dat tax check. Maybe installed by the Redbird cleanup, but if not I'll still bring the Jeep.

Trying to eat a little better.

Howiepaloza is a big event every year to celebrate an old time Iowa 4x4 guy named Howie. For the last handful of years he's had it at SMORR. This year he is holding a charitable raffle for his niece(I think). April 24-27th.

I'm heading down the 23rd early in the morning with a few buddies, with most everyone else going Thursday.

I live at the dead end of a gravel road on 12 wooded acres.
My nearest neighbor is 1/2 mile away.
I live in Chicago like you like in Boston.
Well that is rather different I guess.

it was never been easy since i owned this jeep, and during the winter when in 4hi it would jump out so i played with the link age a little and it seemed ok, but always was a bitch to get back in 2wd.

yesterday when i hit the pavement on my way to the air pumps, i was trying to get it in 2wd and it would not budge. managed to get it out of 4lo and into 4hi but that was it. i knew i could get it home so the alternator was a bigger issue. so, pulled the shaft off and headed home.

Much like mac, I have to play tricks to make mine shift out of 4x4. Putting it in 2wd and then slamming the gas in reverse hard enough to bark the tires typically gets it to unload the mode hub enough to slip back into 2wd.
