Re: Re: Important

This weekend is costing me thousands.

My parents gave us a nice chunk of change and my wife's parents gave us a nice check as well and we still had to pay thousands out of pocket...weddings are spensive. Enjoy the day though, it will be over before you want it to be.

Also, if you cry like a baby during the daddy daughter dance mac needs to.post pics :)

Nope. You chose to spend all that money.

Cost us $30 total.

Married by a judge is exactly the same amount of married.

w_'smart enough to realize that was money there was no need to pay'howey

i don't disagree with you in the least bit...but my wife wanted to have the wedding that she dreamed about. she has rarely asked me for anything since we've been together, so i wanted her to have it. we also had guests who chose to travel thousands of miles to come to our wedding since i work and have lived all over and our families were a long ways apart. it was the least we could do to throw them the best party possible. it was the most expensive thing i've done up until we bought our house...it was also the most fun i've ever had in a single day, and something i'll never forget. i don't regret it at all.

my wife probably spends less than $250 on herself in the course of an entire year counting all the clothes, beauty products, shampoos, lotions, purses, shoes, girls nights out and any other special purchases she makes...i spend thousands a year on silly things like hunting gear and jeep/car parts, so it all balances out in my book. it would be different if i was always the biggest bread winner and she didn't work, but we go back and forth depending on the year. the year we got married she worked extra time at a job she hated to save the money for the wedding too. she made about 2.5 times more money than me that year...now if we would have taken on more debt or sold something to pay for the wedding, it would have been a different story...but we didn't.

that being said...even though the wedding was expensive in my eyes, by today's standards we were still very much on the low side of what most people spend
