Important

Glad I installed the block heater in the jeep a month or 2 ago. It is warm on start-up :)

-8 here this morning, the Dodge is sitting outside purring like a kitten and it's probably generating its own fuel because it has a Cummins in it! Still has shitty uncomfortable seats though... heading yo Arkansas line to pick up my new skid steer, it is going to be a cold bisch out there loading the trailer...

Just sitting here at work makes my fuel gauge go up.

Big 'we aren't responsible for seats' Hank

My toes are cold, didn't check the weather. really thinking of throwing the carpet back in the jeep for the insulation.

-1 when I got up.
Left the truck plugged in all night, I always let it run for 15 min before I leave, still wasn't to OP temp by the time I got to work. Time for some cardboard over the radiator.

Got down to -9 here, going to be driving my Jeep this weekend (I hate to leave my mom without a vehicle) because there is a prediction of 6-10" of snow. The VSA (a form of traction control) in the Accord does okay in the road conditions, but I want 4wd this weekend if I need it.

Can you transfer that over here to my tank?

So i'm lazy, it's cold and I need an oil change. Gonna take the Jeep to the quickielube or whatever the hell they call it. Gonna hand them a Wix filter and let them have at it.

My brother drives his civic in that much snow and doesn't have too many issues. The only time i've used 4wd this winter was yesterday to yank an f-150 out of a ditch. Also, why doesn't your mom just buy her own XJ, they are cheap and much more reliable than the vans she keeps buying! :D

As soon as I get someone to confirm she locked up her motor or not, she will proceed from there (I need to get a hold of her neighbor to look at it). Once it is determined for sure what is wrong, it will either get fixed or I will find another spare tire to put on the front (she has two brand new front tires) and keep the new tires to sell and then scrap the van. She will be responsible for finding her own vehicle. I don't know what she will be able ot afford, but if she finds something, it will be looked over the best it can be. I WANT my Jeep to keep.

If it wasn't for Christmas and other family things, someone would have already looked at it to determine what is wrong.

It is not very hard to tell if a motor is locked up. Put along breaker bar and socket on the nut at the end of the crank and see if you can turn it.

I told him once...

If it is making that sound, it's toast. Last thing you could try (sounds like you gave up though) is put a socket on the crank bolt and see if you can turn it by hand.
