Is there any other way to repair the step without building a custom bushing or trying to buy it? Would think there would be a way to fix it with something a little easier.

Get a regular top hat bushing with the ID big enough for a piece of square tube.

Will is a good guy. Knew him from the Chicago racing forums a while back. Those tires and wheels on it came off Kelly's Xterra. Those tires are retreads though. Not MTRs

Jeep was pretty clean from what I remember when I saw it last. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help. He's only about an hour from the IL HQ
