If Ho Bag complained about a dick head customer here so you think he would get much business? I doubt it. I'm all about venting to friends, which i consider all of you, but the shit that was said was kinda inappropriate to be directed towards kids.
I'm all about old fashion discipline but if a teacher wrote that crap about my son I'd go off.

This whole conversation reminds me of this cartoon.

If my kid came screaming to me that his teacher was bad mouthing him over something on the web I'd march down to the school and find out from that teacher what I needed to do to get my kid to perform better. Not blame the teacher.

Yet, the photo isn't about talking about students behind their backs.

And Austin's blowup isn't about parents complaining about grades.

It's about his students challenging his authority in the Classroom, and how it's dealt with. And how you deal with it as a Teacher inside and outside the classroom defines you. Some folks are Technically apt, but don't have the skills to deal with young adults with a hormone problem. I don't see this as what happened here; I've met Austin and he seems pretty cool headed to me.

The problem it seems, is that his students want to play with their own cars. And there is a time for that also. Perhaps the opening play didn't go as planned, but with a bit of luck and a bit of personal attention to the more restless students, Austin can pull it together and everyone can move forward.

And about this negative talking about work/workers on the web. I'd avoid it. There have been very public examples where this backfires most of the time. Besides, it's like swearing; do it enough that your comfortable with it and sooner or later, you will inadvertently say the most inappropriate thing to the wrong person.

Post their accomplishments, not their failures and they can hardly complain

Someone posted that Teachers only work 2/3 of the year.

Yah, if they want to teach kindergarten all their life...
Most will start their day about milking time and come home, eat, then start correcting tests an start working on the next lesson. Then in the ""Summer"", they go back to school to earn more teaching credits. When they are not doing any of that, many work a part time job or do work on the side.
Inspite of doing all that, they are not rich, but earn a comfortable wage.
