Important

I'll admit to the farmer mindset myself.

if a safety device causes machinery not to operate just because it's stupid, I will disable it.

I hate those stupid bars on pushmowers because they make my hands hurt.
and I hate seat safeties on riders because I'm not heavy enough to keep them depressed.

It's BS that the mower shuts off when I hit a bump in the yard.

It is really going to suck when the blades/PTO keeps going and you are underneath it after you rollover on a hill. The new lawnmowers have a time delay built in so you don't get the on/off with a light person. Time for an upgrade?

I hate heights...

Moab Rim is a very intimidating trail for me...

I'm ok on the roof of my house...but not much higher.

A lift...no way.

Anybody know if I can retro fit a fuel rail/pressure regulator assembly from an HO onto a Renix?

I can now shift my tcase without laying under my jeep.

Got rid of the forward/backward linkage by modifying it. My stock shifter is backwards but it doesn't bind.

Drove it down the road. Its kinda scary on my very uneven, paved road.

nope. xcm tried a while ago and found they don't line up. Injector ports aren't on the same centers.

87-90 use one design, 91-95 use another, 96 and later use another, some late models use yet another design but it's not all that important (96+ are the same as 91-95 but without the fuel pressure regulator port, and with only one fuel line port since the regulator is at the tank.)

I will not be building them, ill be the guy basicly doing oil changes and maintenance daily. 1 guy works on the same 10 turbines for a company.

From what im told by my instructors, the guys that build them will be getting paid almost twice as much as i will. but they travle much more like every 6/10 months to a new farm. with the new wife and plans for children in the future i really cant go that route.

Are your instructors honest with you about the fact that two major projects have already been cancelled, many more have been scaled back and the industry is really in a state of flux right now??

There is a major wind energy tax credit that expires this year and the congress has signaled that they don't expect it to be renewed. This will effectively end the wind energy construction boom. Excelon(Com-ed/PECO/Constellation) cancelled an expansion on a large wind project out east, and recently the CEO said that without a renewal of the tax credit, they wouldn't bother with another wind project.

This is an industry that right now is short of workers... but about to be really, really overloaded on them if construction stops or curtails to the degree expected. Where exactly do you think those turbine builders will go if there are no construction jobs available?? Right into those maintenance jobs you freshly minted schoolies want.

OSHA approved, until the safety device gets in the way.

at least thats how farmers in my area seem to operate.

Own my climbing gear. You want me up on your shit... my harness goes on.

BTW... Trump Tower was very cool from the 80th floor. I wanted to chuck something over the side to see what it would look like after it impacted on the ground.

I'm surprised. I felt totally comfortable in the jeep on that trail with you.

I can't go up open bleachers or get to the edge of balconies or buildings. My worst heights experience was when nobody told us that the elevator in the tower thing in Toronto was glass on the outside.

That was 1000 feet with my eyes closed and a white knuckle grip on the grab handle.

just missed an opportunity to buy a truck that I have been looking years for. I called to see if I could look at it tomorrow and the guy said it drove out of the driveway 30 minutes before I called. He just listed it this morning. So, back on the search for a Chevy 1967-1972 SB step side w/o rust......

I believe in darwinism. If you're under your lawn mower after it rolls down a hill, you were dumb enough to put it on the hill in the first place.

I have to wear a safety harness when I get on top of the aircraft because in the 13 years I've worked on V-22's, 3 people have fallen off the wing.

agreed

But then you get the family that sues the company because it kept running... (how the world works, and companies cover their butt)

my wife took this pic at the top of a light house at silverlake dunes...

i was glued to a wall. at one point watched a 7-8 year old girl skipping across the lookout deck passed me. she gave me a funny look.

I rode the three rides at the top of the stratophere in 2006 in vegas...

I was scared to death...had enough alcohol in me to keep me sane and a group of friends calling me a pussy if i didn't ride them...

Still my favorite bodystyle. I drove a 72 GMC in high school. Mine was shortbed 4x4. Had about a 3 inch lift on it and 33s and alluminum slots. Was a factory Ac truck that someone had taken the compressor lines and condensor off of. It was an original fleetside but someone had put a 73+ bed on.
I hit a pole with it and parted it out. Id like to have another.

Again, no problem, its nice to exercise my content area outside of a classroom and know it still makes sense... Actually have a couple generators at school I might rig up in that scenario for the kids to figure out...
