krokodil is fortunately still mostly a russian problem, it hasn't hit the US yet. I'm really hoping it doesn't, our meth/heroin/crack problems are bad enough.
Another thing to keep an eye on is coaxil - heavily abused in russia due to crooked pharmacies selling it under the counter, and has many of the same bad effects as krokodil for different reasons, i.e. you can end up a quadruple amputee very quickly.
I don't even understand it. The idea of doing something that destructive to myself just doesn't even make sense.

what someone chooses to do to themselves is their business. The flip side to that is then people have to start taking care of themselves and not having the rest of society foot the bill for their irresponsible lifestyle.
The "war on drugs" is one of the most colossal failures this country has ever had. Why our government thinks that the results will be any different than prohibition I'll never know. All we're doing is spending tons of money to fight a problem that we've created ourselves and the net result of all that money spent is more violence and the funding of drug cartels and corruption.

As far as drugs go, I'm very against the illegal use. I do believe that marijuana should be legal. I also have never smoked it. Take that for what it's worth.
Pills just sound dangerous to me. Seems like you can easily take the wrong amount. I don't understand how people decide it would be a good idea to snort something, let alone inject anything! Further, I don't understand what makes people decide at some point that they want to try smoking/injecting chemicals they found under the sink.
I understand how addiction works. I smoked cigarettes from the age of 19-26 everyday and smoke now under certain circumstances like drinking, but I can't fathom the thought process that goes form smoking, to snorting, to injecting.

I agree with Josh and Nate here. Right down to the "think MJ should be legal but have never smoked it" part.

believe it or not i've never once lit up the mj. though if you ask people who know me for years, they all swear i secretly smoke. a lot of my friends tell me that no one can be as calm and laid back as me without smoking a little weed. however, being in the entertainment industry and having some of the friends that i do, im around it all the time. in my opinion, there is no reason for it to be illegal. it is no harder on your body than booze and personally dealing with high musicians is much easier than drunk ones
