Shut up and get back to packing! :D

It is rough, This trip is to meet with a supplier and help out with a couple projects.

I found out that I have to go again in mid summer-fall for service training too :moon:

Next time someone tries to talk me into doing a motor swap on a V8 grand cherokee I am telling them to haul that damn thing to the scrap yard. WHAT A PAIN IN THE ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1995 grand cherokee with the 5.2 in it. Plenty of room in the front of the motor, but NO room in the back of the motor for the bellhousing bolts, exhaust bolts, and the motor was seized so that made it a little more interersting also. Next is ANOTHER 95 grand cherokee that the donor motor is coming from. So pull two motors and install one, not fun in these pieces of shit V8 zj's. LOL I have done two motor swaps in zj grands for the inline six and it was not that bad, but damn that V8. :D

Pull motor, trans, & t-case as a unit?

We are doing that for the second zj as it is just a donor. We are cutting everything out of the way to make this one easier. But getting the new-used motor into the good zj is going to be interesting and time consuming. The exhaust is going to be a nightmare.

I feel your pain, I had to replace the heads on mine when I got it and that exhaust pissed me off to no end. I ended up cutting the Y pipe and pulled each piece out still attached to the manifold because the tabs broke on the flag nuts behind the manifold flange. When I put it back together I threw the manifolds on it and the new Y-pipe in the back and towed it to the exhaust shop to put the rest together. I know, I took the lazy way out...

Good luck, have to love Chrysler for stuffing a bigger motor into the ZJs with a smaller engine bay than an XJ... in my opinion at least.

We will see how today and tomorrow go. I think we are going to end up having someone else finish the final shit for the swap, I am sick and tired of this piece of shit. This jeep has my stress level up and when that happens, usually a jeep goes to the scrapyard. :D

I always pull the whole thing when I am swapping a motor. Pull the nose pieces off and use a load leveler on the hoist and it is a one man job. Done it 4 times now, twice on a porch so small I couldn't even get both axles of the jeep on it at the same time.

if 'beer' is code for top shelf blow and hookers, then it may be worth it, if 'beer' means 'beer'...you sir are the hooker b/c you are getting screwed.
