Important

should be 4 nuts (13mm, iirc) holding the transmission mount to the crossmember. Pull those.

Then you're looking at the two 18mm bolts holding the transmission mount to the transmission (not the transfer case.) Pull those, make sure you have the transmission supported.

Now you should be able to see the last 9/16" nut holding the last stud on the transfer case. They hid it in there for some horrible reason on the autos.

are you referring to the 2 on each side bolting up to the "frame"?

Nope. Look up at the crossmember directly below the trans mount. You should see 4 holes in a square pattern, there are 4 nuts up in there (giggity) that need removed.

after reading this i immediately ran back out ther crawled underneath and HOLY CRAP! your right there is 4 nuts up there. no wonder that thing will not budge. i cant believe i didn't ask before. sometimes i need to remember that these forums im on are here to provide info every now and then. my ignorance to ask almost cost Timmy83 a finger.

i just sprayed some pb in there cuz they looked pretty rusted, going to try and get them off tomorrow after work. ill let you know how that goes.

many many plans...chopping it up is not in the plan. first step is to get the 4.2 running again. stupid computer controlled carbs are making me feel stupid. once its running its getting a full strip and repaint, bedliner and a new interior. then if money allows in a year or so, the motor will be swapped for a 4cyl cummins.

i plan on owning this forever
