Important

I just found out today that I was preferenced (selected out of a group of resume's) for an interview with Chrysler for a summer internship in supply chain management up in Auburn Hills, michigan. The interview isn't until October 26th, but still good news nonetheless.

You're probably the only one dumb.........er, smart enough to own Chrysler's! :D

Keep your eyes open if you get that position. An acquaintance of mine got laid off from Chrysler a couple of years ago after quite a few years in supply there.

Hope you get lucky and it didn't tear up the PCB. If it just shattered the connector you can probably find one on ebay for cheap and solder it in...
Yup.

I should replace the power jack & screen hinges on this 3.5 year old Dell. If I do it before they break, it should be a whole lot simpler.

I dropped my laptop yesterday and busted the power cord plug in on the side

HP's have a plug in power inlet, so there's no soldering, if you have one. I've replaced about 5 of them for people.

There's a lot of how-to's on the net if you google your laptop model. Most of the time I can find step by step directions with pictures on how to get it apart.

So, Im in Dublin OH for a couple days (work sent me here). Is there anything fun to do around here? Doesnt seem like much close to the Hotel.

I'm 40 minutes north.

you can try the franklin conservatory, downtown columbus. Nice relaxing bit of flowers. Check the glass blowing out, it's neat.

I guess it depends on what you want to do.

Both of us drunk is a rare occurance indeed. His lightweight ass will be passed out before the fire gets going.

red 'USMC trained' heep

me drunk is a rare occurrence. I've not had a drink of anything alcoholic in about 2 years. I figure I'm due.

The uhaul at the end of the campground stuck will be epic!

I dropped my laptop yesterday and busted the power cord plug in on the side...it was plugged in when it fell and landed directly on the end w/ the cord plugged in and it jammed the part up into the computer...it brings the suck. I am going to take it apart and see if I can fix it, b/c frankly I dont want to buy a new laptop at this moment in time. :banghead:

On a side note, on netflix I have been watching that show "Sons of Guns".....for some reason I am digging it. The chick on it is bordering between kinda cute and NOT, but she handles those guns and it puts her over the line back to cute again. :D

you should call me before you take that apart. Ask wheeler about the mess on my workbench last friday.

on a side note, some guy randomly pulls into my drive and ask, "hey, you selling that motorhome by any chance?".

what have I done so right to deserve this? LOL

Fore 'please, please, please come back with money' Wheeler

I saw a pop up camper the other day that had your name all over it.

most of the higher end DV series and the new G series have remote mounted jacks.

DV2xxx and DV5xxx usually didn't. If you're taking it apart and it has the nvidia chipset you should thouroughly clean the heatsink, take it off and replace the garbage thermal pad with some brass or copper shims. Before it gets hot and desolders itself from the board and you have to re flow it with a wagner paint stripper .

Just drove by the local 99% protest/mob/rally whatever you want to call it. Let's just say having a no muffler/no cat 5" exhaust on a cummins with it tuned up can black out a rally in a hurry. I had fun doing it lol

I would love to see that...were you rolling or stopped? I sent our commie mayor an email about those idiots spray painting profanity on the sidewalk, hoping it would help him decide to make them remove their tents and leave. He said he would take it into consideration...they are still there in their tents.

Doesn't it make you happy that we are supporting them? I was in Madison during the rallies a while back and while stopped at a light waiting to turn right to go to my next call a guy yell's to me "go to work we need your money". Needless to say if I was not at work I'd be wanting to go kick his arss.

I stopped at the stop sign on Kirkwood and Dunn, put it in neutral and sat there for a couple minutes. It was a good time.

I do think it's funny that they are all against corporations in America, yet they seem to be sleeping in corporate Coleman tents, and making fruit smoothies in corporate Black and Decker blenders with fruit that was donated to them. I just don't seem to get it.

But I do agree, they are squatters and need to leave. I'd rather have the homeless people sleeping in the park lol

Here in Rockford, a big shot personal injury lawyer, aka ambulance chaser, is organizing a rally. I find it ironic that he lives in a million dollar estate out in the country, sends his kids to an expensive private school, lives high on the hog, owns a high profile law firm, yet organizes a "anti-corporate greed" rally.
The only thing he does is wright ridiculous left wing letters to the editor.

protesters will always be protesters....if they are so "smart" they would look to see that historically there has been very little, if any, positive or measurable results from their actions. "Freedom of Speech".....it is not a cloak to hide behind like 99% of those people do, it is a FREEDOM to be had, not abused. I find it amussing that they want to bitch about corporate greed, but yet are not employeed or working and have teh time to be out there doing this shit. Last I checked, ANYONE that is willing to work hard CAN find a job of some sort. If people would lower their standards, there are still plenty of jobs to be had in this country...now granted they may not be the jobs that they want, but it is a source of income none the less. Unfortunatly we live ina society that has breed more cry baby whiners that think teh world or the Government owes them everything. They need to get off their asses, quit whinning and go get a job. Hell, I cant even find reliable help in my area for $15/hr CASH! I have 2 part time guys that are worth every penny and then some, but they are both leaving for college after school is out...yeah, they are highschool seniors that work circles around everyone else I have hired to work for me. Sorry about the rant. :soapbox:

At least there is a reason behind your rant. You're right working hard pays off. Hell, until I was 22 I was just a slacker. worked PT jobs for a few months at a time blah, blah, blah. Then Mom made to move to FL, best things she's done for me. Now I've had 8 vehicles that I PAID FOR MYSELF, Work a damn good job and am grateful for all of it! There are far more able people than me out there just collecting a check every month because they can! Without me finally realizing i was going nowhere, you guys never would have had the pleasure of me bugging you for the last 4 years! :D

I think he wanted to go to the boobie bar and get drunk...none of that classy stuff, don't you know chuck?

These folks really have no idea what they are supporting. They are just there to be there I think to a degree. They are having a rally this weekend in Fort Wayne. They had a meetting Wednesday night to decide...are you ready for this...to decide what they were going to protest.

What kills me is that the left wing bleeding heart liberal media is supporting these protests. Why? Even they don't know. The media never stood behind the tea party, if anything they blasted them....oh wait, they (tea party) knew what they were standing up for...The tea party also wasn't in the business of busting into peoples homes and committing vandalism and I'm sure if they would've been arrested the media would've supported their arrest instead of blasting the police for these wall street protesting arrests.

If the people that were on unemployment just got a job, not that 20 an hr they want, but a job, and worked, and paid what they should be in taxes, instead of milking the govt teat...this country would be in ALOT better shape. There are jobs. Everyone is cutting back. Suck it up and deal with it. I've never been on unemployment. I understand why its there and six months on it is long enough.
