what motor? i'll do it for half of what any other mechanic tells you, since i don't have a shop, or licensure, plus gas to come to clarksville, unless you wanna bring it to the boro...

yeah man, i'd be glad to. is it 4x4? i'm a little worried that the wear in the main bearings might cause it to leak even after a seal change, so i would recommend new crank bearings while i'm in there. but i'll do whatever you want me too on that one. the last one i did still leaked a little at first, but after a while it just about stopped, even without swapping the bearings. it'll be half the cost of whatever mechanic you talk to, plus parts and gas. i can call for an estimate, but i don't have the labor manual to know what to charge right off hand. my goal is to save you money, and make a little for myself.

I haven't gotten any price estimates from anybody yet. How much longer would it take to replace the crank bearings?

it's cool man. i don't need the money as bad as i thought, because i just found out the knocking under my hood was from a worn out harmonic balancer, not a bad engine. now i just need a balancer, not a whole motor! woot! i'd still be glad to help you get your stuff fixed, though. i'm just not dying like i thought i was

Awesome! Glad to year that! I was worried for ya...I hate seeing people get hit hard on the holidays. Mostly because I've been there.
