I mite go but instead of the camp site would I be able to say on the beach then meet you guys to eat next day?an what beach is it that we are going to camp at?
I have played with that option every year and you are welcome to do it. I added a few basic maps to the picture site
You should be able to find your way to the beach with that first map. That is not the way we will go Sunday morning thought so to roll with us Sunday you would want to drive around to Garberville. I'm guessing thats about an hour drive up 1 to 101 to Garberville.
The reasons I have never done it are:
The long drive in the morning
Two night on the sandy beach gets kinda dirty, no shower
The campgrounds are up in the big trees and as camp grounds go they are really cool.
Like I said you are welcome to it and if the campground are full we may join you.

Well I guess two months out isn't good enough. Both Richardson Grove and Standish-Hickey
campgrounds are full. Humboldt Redwoods has a lot of space yet. It's about 35min north of Garberville and I've never been up that far... so I guess thats my pick. I guess I'll get two site side by side. It sounds like we may fill that and then some. They are $20 each so we can just split that when we get there.

Ok i just plunked down $55 for two camp sites next to each other in Humboldt Redwoods State Park. I'm hoping some of you will come join me. It sounds like a really beautiful area.

Fire wood is always a problem. The first night you have to buy it and at the beach there just isn't much. If we can all bring a bit/as much as we can fit, we should be good. Who can bring and how much. In a pinch I could bring my trailer and we would have all we want... but I would rather not.

Sorry, but this years Lost Coast run isn't in the cards for me. The drywallers finish taping my addition today, and I've got a line on the free use of a paint sprayer and scaffolding lined up for the weekend. I've got too much momentum going on my home project right now, to slow down...

For those that can make it, it will be a great run with some pretty good weather in store....

Sorry to hear that Ivan. Maybe you could just come meet us for a solid breakfast Saterday.

For everyone ellse please let me know ASAP whether you are planning to come and how much wood you can bring. I am hoping you are all coming but I have $55 in camp site reservations that I would like to recoup if we are not going to need two spots.
The plan is...
Saterday:
Meet up at Humboldt Redwoods State Park, Albee Creek Campground Sites 027AC and 024AC reserved under the group name NAXJA. Let me know if you can bring any firewood. Camp and hang out at the campfire.
Sunday:
Caravan down to meet any stragglers (or those who camped elsewhere) in Garberville for breakfast at the Waterwheel Restaurant at 9:30. After we eat our fill, head out the beautiful Usal road to the beach. At some point the pavement gives way to dirt and we will stop briefly to air down tires and/or disconnect sway bars. This is optional but tire deflation is recommended. We should arrive at the beach early afternoon where we can leisurely set up camp and play on the beach. Kids have a great time.
Monday:
Slow morning followed by the sudden realization that we need to get rolling as we all have a long day ahead. Pack up camp. Head out a much shorter but bumpier road back to highway 1 where we will air up tires. And then roll south to Fort Bragg for lunch. Kelly and I like to have fish and chips at a certain place and all are invited to join us. Form there the group breaks up to go it's own ways home.

Bronco; let me know what I owe you for the camp site. Unfortunately we are out, I'm still sitting on jack stands.
