About a month ago my wife and I were trapped in the drive through at the taco-snot. She was having a bad day as it was, and then to be trapped in the drive-thru for 10 minutes wasn't any help. Even my patience was tested. I kept looking at the median strip with it's softball sized river rock and 18" fitzer bushes thinking; "I can get over that." When I noticed her getting pretty flustered I had to say it: "We don't have to wait in this line, we're in a Jeep." I pointed to the median and calmly stated: "We can get over that; between the two bushes or between the bush and the pole." My strategy worked, the mood lightened. When we made it to the window she effectively scolded the manager and we drove out with our free food.

Saturday she went to visit a girlfriend, decided to get some take out for dinner and "whoops!" pulled in the wrong driveway. She said she was looking for a way to get to the other parking lot and saw a median strip of dirt and weeds. Then the thought came to her: "I'm in a Jeep, I can get over that!" She nosed the little XJ up to the curb, walked one front tire up, then the other, hopped the back up and drove down the other side to park where she intended.

She said that if I were there I would have been proud of her. Well I wasn't, but I am!!! :D

I guess it's time to get busy with the skid plates...

Thats what you call urban wheelin..............LOL

LOL For sure!

It's the first time she's driven over a curb...on purpose. Prior to this the very thought was akin to putting your shoes on the wrong feet; you just don't do that.

It's hard to believe that Uncle Sam had her operating all-terrain cranes and deuce-and-a-half trucks when she was but a teenager. Hmmm, I could try painting the XJ olive drab, mount big tires, but she'd probably refuse to drive it.

Oh well, she still lets me go play in "her" car.

The GF hates when I do stuff like that "URBAN 4wheeling" stuff. But from time to time I think I'm rubbing off on her because she asks me "do you think I can make that?" blows me out of the water every time. GOD I LOVE THAT! She was always afraid to "BREAK" the jeep and now that I got her driving some of these trails and doing a bit harder lines here and there she is really liking it now.
