If you had to choose....60 vs 44

I just got a quote on 4 Racelines for $999.00 to my door. My H1's were $200 for all 4 + $125 for the centers. I used .5 round to strengthen the edges. I think that was maybe $50. That is no where near about as much. My only beef with the 16.5 is no one makes a sticky for them.

I didn't say stock with centers, I said "with all the jazz." Start having rock rings cut, powdercoating, etc and it starts to get expensive. Then cut the run flats or buy the pvc ones, do all the welding and finishing, etc.

I just mounted tires and bolted mine to the jeep and they weighed 105 lbs with 37's.

But you said the reasons I wouldn't. Heavy and limited tire choices.

My biggest thing right now is that I'm not made of money and I've always made do with what I had to work with. I've never had the latest and greatest equipment on my trail rigs, but I've always had enough to have fun and that's the direction I'd like to stay. I guess I'm just not "into it" enough any more to justify spending huge amounts of money on a trail beater :(

then don't swap the axles. my junk is on a 30 and an 8.8 and i kept it wheeling for 6 months on a budget of about 40$ a month. I keep it on 35's and stay wheeling. its all going into another mj body so i can stick with the same wheeling budget

Oops I was wrong. The pressed centers are $49/each, not $25. But the 12 bolt wheels are $25, not $40 so it's only a $40 total difference on a set of 4.

I remember when I had my M1008 I want by there and bought a set of 5 ~50% tread MT's and only paid like $325 for all 5. They may not be the best, but if it's all I can afford when it comes time to buy, I'll most likely go that route. I'm sure that I can sell them for the same, or close to the same money as I have in them later on if I'm not happy with them. One thing is for sure, I've wheeled on worse!

I should weigh mine some day......

Glenn, what's the backspace on your wheels, and section width of your tires?

42 15 16.5. I have 2 different BS on my H1's. I'll check and get back to you.

Mike, sorry I totally spaced out and just now got the measurements. According to some Pirate threads the spindles need to be 1.560 and mine measures a hair under 1-5/8", according to my tape measure and eye ball. My good tools are all at work or else I would get you a more precise measurement. As suspected, big bore spindles.

Glenn, what's the backspace on your wheels, and section width of your tires?

Rear is set at 3.5" which is standard for the flat centers I believe. Fronts I had a friend machine smaller and is at 5".
