This thing was an absolute steal! I went all ninja stealth on cragslist and low and behold, an axle was manifested. The add said Jeep 8.25 axle $25. I pulled it up since it obviously peaked my curiousity. The picture showed it all torn apart, but everything seemed to be there, and the price couldn't be argued with since the JY's take $20 per axle shaft. I didn't know if it was a 27 or 29-spline and really didn't care. If it's 27 I can use it for parts, if it's 29, I scored something to build up! That's what happend! I got myself a 29 for $25! party1: So, now I'm in the process of looking at the costs of locking it. I want to go selectable like ECTED or ARB. I can't find anything for an 8.25 on ECTED. Does anyone know of anyother electric or pneumatic lockers I could use?:dunno:

nice! cant beat that price... even for all the bits and peices apart. maybe i should learn the way of the ninja...

ninja ways are learned over time, patience is your friend young grasshopper....

nice find on the axle. I was paying 50-100 for 29 spline shafts, so I would say you got a good deal

Way to go Josh! Now find me an 8.8 for 25 bucks and we're in business! :D

Wording of the ad makes it sound like a Ranger 8.8. You don't want that; 28 spline axles and drum brakes. Explorer 8.8s are where it's at.

nice find!

Thanks, Aaron. Trust me, if I found an Exploder 8.8 for $25, I would sell you my 8.25! But you already have this technology. You would at least have extree parts.
