i need to come up on an AW4 asap..... help please?

pick a part has failed me, increased prices and lack of pre-pulled trannies is making it not even worth my friggin time any more.

i need a renix era AW4 ASAP!

gotta get my crap together not only for JV but im relocating from 29 Palms to Carlsbad at the begining of November and i really need to have the jeep drivable by then.


anyone know anything i should know or has one laying around?


ive got plenty of crap to trade and im not afraid to drive a lil.

Got one in the garage... only bummer is 198K on it..never let me down.. With that said it has a 1yr old converter and pump on it.. 21 spline..

its prolly to late, but you would have been Much better off just doing a 91-93ish AW4 and 231 both of which have the larger 23spine. If It was me that is......

You know the only reason that I've ever considered really good to swap to 23 splines is for more D300 / Atlas / Whatever compatibility.

I've yet to meet (or hear of) one person who has killed a 21 spline AW4 output shaft.

Theroetically stronger? Yes. Realistically stronger? The jury's still out.

Wouldn't happen to have a tranny jack would ya?? Or mabey a reverse t-12 socket?


I was hoping on getting it started and finished before wensday seeing how my wife is at work till then but this weekend might work out.

Seriously the time from making this post to finding out there was an availble tranny, to me hitting the pavement was all in a matter of like 20 minutes.

XJ - in a pinch you can use a regular jack, a block of wood, and a ratchet strap for the transmission. Actually it's easier with an automatic because it has that nice flat pan. Just be real careful! I don't want to read about you losing any fingers!

I guess in the mean time ill fix all the other little problems with the heep like that exaust manifold that cracked completely through the night I blew the tranny..........
