I need help with the red/green/purple circles & squares

Where can I go to read about (1) the circles after people's names (what the different colors mean), (2) what the squares in the upper right corner mean and why they too can be red, green, or purple.

I had one green square (that I assumed meant I was first-year member) and suddenly I have 11: the first five are dark green, the last six light green.

All I can gather so far is that the squares are for "reputation"? Does that mean someone liked something I posted? If so, I'd like to know how to do the same thing. I owe thanks to a lot of people.

:dunce: I clicked on every line in the list and learned all kinds of things (Note avatar :yelclap: and on-site smilies), changed my time zone, HTML, and color scheme, but didn't find anything about the colored circles/squares or "reputation".

(And when I clicked off Users CP to post this I notice that the circle after my name is now red and not green. Is this good, bad, or meaningless?)

I just reread your post. The squares basically tally your reputation score. Yours says most people like ya or your posts/views. You can only read your own reputation posts...as far as I know. Green squares mean they liked or agreed with your post. Red means they disagreed or didn't like it. Grey is sort of wishy washy. Clicking the specific line in the User CP will tell which post they are referring to. Don't believe it tells you who left the input tho.

The circles tell whether you're online or not. You can access some of that persons info thru that. Click it and it will give you a drop down menu to their posted info, web page, profile, etc. The color of your name means whether you're a paid member or just a forum user.

that's a negative sarn't...

grey squares are the result of someone with negative reputation trying to add to yours. It doesn't affect your reputation negatively or positively.

When you click user cp, it DOES show who left the feedback.

To add to someone else's rep, go to that person's post and click on the "scales of justice" in the upper right hand corner.

Thanks. That's what I still didn't know. And I think I found out why the circle by my name turned red when it was always green before. I'd checked the "invisible" feature thinking I really didn't want anyone to know how much time I waste on this site. (I don't even want to know. ) I changed it back & I'm green and visible again.

If you're a member, it says who left the reputation, but nonmembers have to guess!
