I need a few parts

in order to correct my slight steering issue.

1.25" drop pitman arm

Steering box brace

a HD Trac-Bar frame mount

and the HD Trac-Bar

I can get the Trac-Bar and HD frame mount for $220 and the pitman and the brace are both $59.00 each plus shipping from Rustys Offroad.

If anyone has any of these, or knows where I can get them cheaper I'd appreciate it. I'm trying to get the parts by the end of the week because I'll be out of town from the 17th to the 24th and on the 25 I'm supposed to go up to Big Bear with it but she needs to be ready!

Thanks guys!!!

do NOT get a rustys track bar.

search for rustys track bar on here, you will see why. dont cheap out on your steering components, if one of them fails on the road, you could die. no kidding... dead. losing your steering at high speed is not fun.

PM Dan Turner of Loose Nuts on here, and get the Rubicon Express HD track bar, you will not be disappointed. You don't need a super drop pitman arm either, look into getting a stock ZJ pitman arm. And Like Grimm said don't get these items from Rusty's you will be very upset when they fail...

What is it that goes wrong with them? My GF has all Rustys components and has never had a problem with them, her dad has been using them for years and also stands by them.

do you think the ZJ pitman would work? I have a 4.5coils and either 1" or 1.5" sapcers.

I was looking at the 1.25" pitman not the longer 3 or 4".

two threads in the past 3 days about track bar failures. yes some people run them without problems, but there are ALOT more complaints about them. like i said before, search. hit the little search tab up there at the top of the forums and type in "rustys track bar*" and you will see. if your jeep is a mall crawler and never goes off road then be my guest, use rusty's parts. if you like wheeling and you want to see what your jeep can do, and still be able to drive home, spend the money and get quality parts. there is a reason rusty's is so cheap, and everyone else is so expensive. you cheap out on everything else thats fine, but dont skimp on steering.

just trying to save you a headache further down the road, do what ya want man :dunno:

Looks like it could have been the tre. on the track bar.

I have a Rusty's track bar on one of my jeeps, and I'm nervous about it.

:(

there is an OVERWHELMING thrive of people who have wheeled rustys products and broken them.

ive never had his trackbar, but i have many friends who ive seen their rustys track bars die on them, after a very short time and just driving on the road.

personally ive had his motor mounts fail on me as well as his spring perches.

search on here.....you will see....

also his inflated shipping rates and extremely long shipping times add to the headache.

so does anyone know where I can get a ZJ pitman then? It's not that I'm trying to go cheap by getting the Rustys parts, it's just that the steering isn't safe to be driving it how it is and I only have a few hundred the correct the problem.

Will they last me even 6 months untill I can upgrade??

Sounds good to me!!!

heh, if you're clapping, you must not know where that desert rat lives. =)

Seriously tho....

As for Rusty's....well, I've never bought anything from him...but if you do a search on just about any 4x4 forum you'll see a ton of posts about him and his business....the bitches range from poor quality craftsmanship, poor customer service, outrageous shipping, to out and out failures and a refusal of Rusty to back up his work.....that's why I stopped dealing with Tom Woods...3 seized DS's, all with no zerk fitting to grease it, and he said it wasn't his craftsmanship that was to blame.
