IRO Long Arm Upgrade:
I was really surprised at how beefy these arms really are. The caster adjustment thing is kinda sketchy, but I have been pounding on it all afternoon trying to even get a wiggle out of it and I can't get it to move at all.....I know that it being under the jeep is a different type of force, but from all the people who actually run this kit that I have talked to said it was really good and have had zero problems with the caster adjustment coming loose at all.
I'm really excited about installing it next weekend.

quit teasing me with the damm dr pepper can! DRINK IT!

I think that kit is just fine for most people, but I think for my sake i'd replace that washer with some Grade 8/ 10.9 stuff. Also using a larger circumference washer. I think the guys at IRO know what they're doing, but idiots are always looking for a challenge, ya'know...

I am actually thinking about replacing everything with grade 8. I was really looking at the kit last night in comparison to the long arms i have now ( homemade) and these IRO arms look WAY safer....plus I don't beat my XJ to death....just a couple trips to URE and DD back and forth to work everyday...

The bolt that is in it now appears to read "10.9" which I believe is on par with Grade 8(either slightly below or slightly stronger, can't remember). The only reason I mentioned the larger washer was just to capture more surface area of the weak part of that adjuster, although it does appear to made of some thick metal.

I :rof::laugh: when I read the thread title.
