I just thought......

HEY-HEY there Andrew! What's up? You gonna be hitting Beasley with us next weekend or what? Hope so!

I lifted the wife's XJ today. It looks sweet! I still need to get that other stuff from ya sometime, though. Her shocks are kinda short now ;)

Hey Mike, how much lift did you put on,and are you going to try it out at beasley knob this coming weekend.
I did some wrenching myself today.
I finally changed those motor mounts and you
talk about wasted they were shot.
No wonder the motor wanted to jump around
on those steep hills.
also I replaced the air box with a cone filter (el cheapo)
I sawed the connector off of the air box and used it as coupling
between the air tube and the cone filter and made a fitting for the small vaccum line.works pretty good so far.
Later.

Naahhh! No 'wheelin' in the wife's rig! I think she'd slap me around a little :twak: if I scratched it up! I put on a pair of Teraflex 2" coil spacers (true 2" spacers) and a pair of Chevy Lowering shackles (true 2" lift). I used the AR Baja's that I had on my rig before, and a set of 30X9.50-15 Goodyear A/T's. I still need to get some 1.5 degree shims to bring the pinion back down a little,as it has some low-speed vibes I need to take care of. She loves the look of it now! She can now roll into work and loom over all of friends in their little "cute-utes" And I got a good reward for it,too :smootch:

LOL 'looming' with a +2" XJ... How special!

I am in the midst of a hose swap on momma's 88. The heater hose leaky then the other one failed, so I got the into swapping them, of course broke the heater control valve, so she's fetching a new HCV and upper hose. The lower hose can wait until I really am in a good mood (prolly do the WP then too, since it looks like the whole front of the Jeep will need to come off to get at it...grrr)

Pix we need Pix of this monsterous 2" XJ LOL got permission for 30" and a 2" BB for mommas, I 'think' we'll sneak in a 3" coils and leafpack kit, since it needs shox anyway...waste of $ for new shox for a BB, no? BB+ shox=$220. 3"kit with leafpacks/rear line =$425

Wow! A woman that wants to be lifted! You better guard her good if I come around!

Tell you guys what! The last thing you want is a Jeepy Woman with a fresh case of inchitis.

I'm GLAD mine was covertly intolerant when I jacked hers up 4" (to simulate a BB and going from 205-70 streeties to 30x9.5) and got permission...like " Well, I guess that'll be OK" + that 'almost sneer' LOL

I figure I'll take liberties and go the extra inch on the sly. (it'll settle some ;) gotta get it up off the ground...looks stoopid parked next to mine.

Pthttttt!!! WORK?? How important is that? Just so you know, life's order of importance goes as follows:

1) Eat
2) Sex
3) Off roading
4) Eat some more
Work is WAY on down the list somewhere, and I can't recall all the other things in between "Eat some more" and "Work"

Seriously though, you're gonna be off next weekend right? Maybe we could go hit a trail somewhere!

i gotta make money to pay back my winch fund the $826 i paid for the new lawnmower that the homeowners assoc. thought was more important than me having a winch(bastards):banghead:. we'll talk about the next weekend or 2.

Gotta love it when someone else can tell you what to do with your own property, huh? So,it's a REQUIREMENT to have a riding mower? How F'd up is that?? Or was it more of a personally "wanted" item?

LOL I bought a 8.5hp walk-behind critter some years back when I was young & motivated (twin blade 33" cut TroyBilt...Cub sells one identical tho) and I am regretting not buying one of those spin-steer sitter jobbies now that I am lazy! LOL I know, I know :bawl:

Yeah Mike I'm with you!...us Jeepers like our grass 3 feet tall...it makes it easier to hide all the junk that piles up :D

I've got a riding mower. Funny thing is,I've actually caught myself thinking "If I lifted it just a little bit I could make it over this hill and cut a little more grass up there! I need some of those Super Swamper Vampire ATV tires for it,too!" Jeez! I got it bad, huh? I am gonna do a flame job on it when I get the time, though :flame:

LOL Mike :)
First thing I did to my TroyBilt (after cutting maybe 5 acres of lawn on the first day I had it) was swop out the skinny wheelbarrow dia tires for a set that fits a Snapper etc Rider (18x6.50x8)

Did this mainly to increase the speed in gears and to add a bit of stability on sideslopes...That 5 acre lawn I cut had a pond in it...I didn't want to sink my new toy. After the mod, I could cut the place in 4 hrs :D Steppin out. I never did drop the front wheel spindles to compensate for the lift LOL.

I also never did build a sulky/platform to stand on and get it, so my feets got some miles those two summers.

i didn't have to have a rider i'm just lazy. thats one reason i wheel instead of hiking. they just require that you mow your grass or weeds and keep them neat. i like the paint idea though how much would that cost me and when could you do it the mower is black right now and brand new.
